After our break, I’m bursting at the seams with things to tell you about like comfy polished workout wear (that would even work for an airplane ride) and a healthy breakfast to prepare in advance (can you tell I want to lose weight?).
There are also examples of refinishing old furniture, what to watch, and my top posts for 2022. It’s Five Fave time with Annie and Cindy!
1. Furniture Refinishing Blending Old And New
I met Jessica from Oak and Grain Refinishing at Haven (the Influencers’ Conference in Atlanta) and we’ve been following each other on Instagram. I really admire how she takes well-made furniture and reinvents it.
My mother said it was fine to change the vintage/antique furniture she gave me (like painting of the demi-lune table and the stripping of her dresser) if it made me want to keep and use it.
And what Jessica is doing is great for the environment. Check this out…

Here Jessica separated the china hutch to create two pieces! So creative.

2. Top Three 2022 Posts
It makes me happy that readers enjoy our Five Faves posts so much that they were in the top three. I know it is a quick read for you (you are busy). But Annie, Cindy, and I have commented to each other about how they really do take a lot of time to create. Nice to be appreciated!

3. What To Cook: Healthy Breakfast
These Healthy Egg Muffin Cups can help you start your day off right! I make them with whatever vegetables we have at the moment.

Store cooked and cooled egg muffins in an air-tight container in the fridge for 4-5 days or in the freezer for 1-2 months.
To reheat, wrap egg muffins in a paper towel and microwave for 30-60 seconds until warm. You can also reheat these in the oven at 350 degrees F for 5-10 minutes.
4. What To Watch
We blew through the suspenseful Season Three of Jack Ryan on Prime Video. Have you seen it?
5. What To Wear: Comfortable Polished Workout Wear
It’s nice to feel a little pulled together in your workout clothes. Even though I like Athleta’s workout wear, I was surprised by how soft their “restore wrap” open cardigan is!
So comfortable, has pockets, and covers my rear end. I bought a regular small since I am long-waisted. There are lots of colors. I don’t think you will be disappointed.

For my “Polished Workout Wear,” I also bought the soft “Uptempo Tee” and the ultimate stash leggings with cellphone pockets and a hidden back pocket for a key or credit card. I bought the Petite Medium and have them in black, too. The On Cloud sneakers are light for travel and have a substantial cushion. My sunglasses are by RayBan.
There are 11 different colors of the Pranayama Restore Wrap! Such as:

Thanks so much for the highlight, Mary Ann! So glad we met at Haven. I’m definitely going to have to try one of those cardigans.
Ps- not sure why my website link isn’t working. (Maybe it’s my mobile view, but https://oakandgrainrefinishing.com/ this one should work!)
Oh! I will look into that!
Oh my gosh, the refinishing totally transforms the pieces, doesn’t it? I love the blue piece. Good to know about the convertible sofa at PB. It sure looked nice when you had it made up for guests. The foam topper was a great idea. I bought a 4″ topper on Amazon for the daybed my granddaughter sleeps on when she stays over.
I’ve updated a few of my aging workout pieces and it does incentivize me to work out more.
I can only imagine how much work these posts are, I for one love them so thank you!

Oh wow, Jessica’s furniture transformations are spectacular. Wish I could get my hands on a few of her pieces. Love your workout wear … especially the color olive green. Loved Jack Ryan and wish there were more episodes. I hear a new season is filming now. Can’t wait. xo
Hi! I enjoy your posts so much. The link to the daybed review is not working. I’m so curious.
Thanks!
Oh Thanks…I will fix it.
CONGRATULATIONS to you, Cindy & Annie for being in the top three posts for 2022. Wahoooooo! I cannot agree more – I look forward to seeing your posts every Monday morning our time in NZ. Three wonderful writers with lots of sass, style, unbelievable creativity and SO real. Thank you for sharing yourselves and your loves (animate and inanimate ~ wink ~) xoxo.
Thanks, Suz!
Thank you for the healthy egg cup recipe: really want to make some of these to up our protein for breakfast (on oatmeal mornings, for example!). The trainer I have worked with since Spring, who is a retired biology prof turned fitness expert/gym owner, recommends upping our protein at each meal to ~20 grams and spreading it out, not just having a protein-rich dinner.
Thanks for the tip!
I enjoyed the recipe and the furniture refinishing. You always look great and so does your home but I’d love to see some more affordable items in the mix for those of us with a limited budget. Thanks for a great blog.
Target has some nice workout tees…I’m wearing one now. I will feature it.
Cute color on you in that workout wear! Isn’t Jessica talented? I have so enjoyed following her and some of the others we met at the conference. These people are so wonderful and like you said, it’s so much greener to repurpose furniture that is already here. Great idea on those muffins too. xo
Thanks for a lovely blog! I bought two of the Athleta wraps a couple of years ago.
They are comfy, wear well (I am wearing one as I write), look good and are soft and warm!
They do not seem to pill.
I highly recommend them!
“Jack Ryan” is excellent-I could watch another every 4-6 months! Also “Bad Sisters” on Hulu. Mordant humor, great acting, Dublin setting.
Thanks for the tip about “Bad Sisters.” You are making me think I need another Athleta wrap…I could clean out all my old sweatshirts 🙂
