Honestly, I love a nice warm bath with indulgences to make it feel like a spa at home. Today for my Five Faves with Cindy and Annie, I’m showing you some pretty bath inspiration and a gift guide for creating a spa at home for those on your lists such as a personalized spa robe, my favorite bath soap, and more. But first, listen to this music while you read the post :
1. Extraordinary Baths
I’ve been looking at bath inspiration as we are considering buying a vacation condo. It’s tough as prices are so steep across the country but it doesn’t hurt to look at fixer-uppers.

2. Affordable Vintage Rugs
Notice how the top two bathrooms have vintage rugs. These can be very costly. Did you read my post on My Favorite Vintage Rug Sources? These are affordable and are lots of sizes from which to choose.
3. Cheese Board Tips and Tricks
It’s really about what you have on hand. Did you know you can freeze crackers and nuts for when you want to pull them out for an impromptu party or snack? I also like to have honey in the comb (I get it at our local farmer’s market). It’s good on Brie and bleu cheese.

My friends, Laura and Debbie gave me the delicious cheeses from Blackberry Farm along with the petrified wood platter (heavy!) for my birthday. Thanks, you guys!

Also, with hard cheeses, you can crumble them a bit to make them easy to nibble.
4. LOVE These On Athletic Shoes
My sister-in-law and brother saw that I was admiring these On shoes on my friends during our recent “glamping” trip post. And they gave me a pair! Now I can see why everyone likes them…nice motivating bounce with stable soles and lightweight! Thanks, Nancy and Jimbo!

I have given this great quality bathrobe to family members. The Aesop body soap is a favorite of mine (and it’s on our son’s list). Love the Brown Sugar Scrub. After the candle is gone, the glass makes a cute vase. My sister swears by these cubes that you put in the shower to create heavenly scented steam.

Ah, a hot bath and a cheese board … preferably together … is there anything better?! Love the shower cube idea and just ordered four sets for gifts. And, one for me because, you know, quality control. xo
I’ll start with the OC shoes. After reading about them in your vacation post, I immediately ordered a pair! They are terrific, so comfy from day one! Thank you, I’ve been looking for some time for new walking shoes.
The beautiful cheese tray looks delicious, so many of my favorite things. The spa gift ideas wish go on my list of gift possibilities.
Hope you had fun in DC, the wedding looked gorgeous.
I love my On shoes too, Gail.
Hi Mary Ann,
The cheese board is amazing and what fun to have special cheeses to serve. I have a pair of On Cloud shoes and they are truly comfortable, I especially love the fact that they are slip-on. It’s so much fun to dream about ideas for a possible future 2nd home.
xo,
Karen
I am lucky enough to have a large free standing bath like the one in photo three and yes, it looks luxurious but there are downsides. Firstly, as I’ve gotten older it has become harder to get in and out of plus it takes a lot of hot water to get deep enough to bathe in. Then there is the cleaning. I need to get in the bath to clean it properly. So, it’s mostly showers these days.
I know. I like a bath tub but it needs to be easy to get in and out of!
The bathrooms sure are nice. The spa music just about put me into slumber land. I love this type
of relaxing music to mellow out to.
The cheese, crackers, and goodies look so good. I never thought of freezing crackers to keep them
fresh. I prefer everything fresh, but we freeze lots of bread, Dave’s bread and it’s still very good.
Great times at the wedding with Sissy, you two look so sweet together. Sisterly LOVE.
Thanks,we had. Great time!!
Great idea about honey in the comb! And freezing crackers. I hadn’t thought of that.
This post almost put me to sleep but the shoes woke me up! I need those! I love Aesops it is so worth the money! I want that cheese board that your friends gave you. It is beautiful!!
ahhhhh, that first one with green tile, vintage rug, brass fixtures…love! And I can say firsthand just how delicious and what a treat it was to experience the cheese from Blackberry Farm! What a treat and so lovely of you to share!
