Hello! Howard and I have been having fun back East in Maine, at a lovely wedding in Kennebunkport and then cushy camping near the Arcadia National Forest. My Five Faves today include some durable outdoor apparel along with other things that I wore and/or experienced! Don’t forget to check out Annie and Cindy’s Five Faves, too!
Evening Dress By Theia
A few people saw my evening gown on my Instagram and asked where it was purchased. I bought it a few years ago but it’s by Theia. I like this flattering brand for special occasions. Here I am with Howard and our son, Thomas.
We stayed where the wedding was held at the Colony Hotel in Kennebunkport.
The cocktail dress that I wore to our daughter’s Santa Monica wedding reception was also by Theia (on sale now).
Shop The Post:
Colorful Wedding Flowers
I feel like people want more color in their lives after a hard couple of years. The flowers at the wedding reception were so pretty.
Simply Elegant Lemon Sorbet
This was a perfect palate cleanser during the wedding dinner. It would also make an easy, light dessert…lemon sorbet with pear, blueberry and mint garnish.
Bold and Beautiful Lipstick
My friend, Mercedes has this great lipstick that apparently Jennifer Anniston also wore on Friends. It’s by MAC (Paramount Satin). I am going to order it.
Durable Outdoor Apparel: Patagonia Jackets and Cloud Nine Sneakers
My friends, Dorothy and Mercedes had Patagonia jackets that they love. So when we stopped in Freeport, Maine, I bought this Patagonia lightweight packable jacket. There are many colors.
Several people in our group have On sneakers and swear by them. They come in lots of colors, too. These will be my next pair!
Glamping Near The Arcadia National Forest
This is my kind of camping…or ah, glamping. This was the type of tent that we had at the Under Canvas Campsite.
There was a plexiglass window above our heads so that you can see the stars at night.
This is in the “lobby” or restaurant area.
SkyView Lite App for Stargazing
Another of Mercedes tips! I downloaded this app while camping and it is so cool. It probably won’t work in SF where we have too much light…but I will try it in other places!
And that’s my five faves including special occasions and durable outdoor apparel along with a fun app to show you the constellations.
Let’s check out what Cindy and Annie have for us!
We just returned from Switzerland where OC shoes are made. I thought they could be shoes my husband might like so we stopped into a shoe store where they were carried. The salesman looked confused when I explained we were interested in looking at some “O.C.” shoes, the pronunciation used by our local store where I purchased mine. He then said, “Oh, ‘ON’ shoes! It’s pronounced ‘on’, as in turning a light switch on and off!”. LOL!!
Thanks. My sister-in-law told me that too. I will correct it.
Thanks, Dawn…I corrected the name.
I need to check out those shoes. I tend to wear my same old New Balance due to my bunion. So many fun things this week! Can’t wait to hear about Maine
Hi Mary Ann,
Looks like you had the best of everything during your East Coast getaway! Lovely wedding, your dress is gorgeous! Lovely glamping, you’re looking really fit and wearing the perfect gear!
XO Heidi
Living vicariously through you this summer. Your wedding guest gowns were both amazing … thanks for the introduction to brand. Can’t stop looking at the wedding flowers and the cake … the colors! You know how I love color … pinning away! xo
What an amazing summer you’ve had! Your evening gown is gorgeous!
I have seen so many people wearing those sneakers! Roger Federer’s brand!
Everything is so beautiful & I’m so glad you shared. Glamping in Maine is now on the wish list.
Mary Ann,
I received a pair of On Cloud workout shoes from my daughter in law and I love them. I especially like the fact that they are slip-on. Fun app. I may have to download it. I do see a few stars in the evenings when I take my dog for her final walk.
Karen
That’s great Karen….I want those sneakers!!!
What a fantastic east coast adventure you had. From a gorgeous wedding with those amazing brightly colored flowers to “Glamping” in Acadia National Park. I looked up the website and they have quite a few beautiful campgrounds scattered around the U.S. and I’ve added a trip to one of them to my bucket list.
From a formal wedding to luxurious camping, you looked so beautiful!
We were thinking that Under Canvas would be fun to go to at the Grand Canyon, Gail!
