Here are the top Classic Casual Home posts for 2021 in ascending order. It’s helpful for me to understand what makes popular reading for you! This is based on Google Analytics viewership.
But I would also appreciate your thoughts on topics of interest in the comments or by responding to my emails to you (you can subscribe here if you haven’t already).
The Five Fave posts on Sundays with Cindy and Annie have been wildly popular on a weekly basis, but if you add in viewers over time (including people coming from search engines like Google and Pinterest), decorating content is tops with some fashion, cooking, and wedding plans represented.
#9 My Projects Page
This is a page on CCH that gets new visitors!

#8 Wearable Spring Fashion
It’s fun to play “age-appropriate dress-up” for this old gal.

#7 A Classic Casual Wedding In Madrid
This was a major event in our family. It was fun to share the small wedding of our daughter, Alexandra, and Luca in Spain with you. Here is Howard escorting Alexandra to the church in the background. (Thanks, Eric, for the photography).

This post had the highest readership in a single day that CCH has ever had!

# 6 The Best Remoulade Sauce
This was surprising in its appeal! It was one of my Five Faves posts. It really is the best sauce ever for crab cakes. I offended a crab cake aficionado reader from the Chesapeake Bay when I put it on a turkey sandwich (it was around Thanksgiving). But I hope he made it anyway as Howard spent his early childhood on the Chesapeake Bay. For many years, Howard has been making this sauce to serve on cakes made with chilled canned lump crab meat from Costco.

I enjoy all your posts but your daughter’s wedding and all the daily posts tied to it was my 2021 favorite. Looking forward to 2022!

Dear Mary Ann,
I love all your posts, and I esp. love recipes from Howard. And your movie suggestions.
I wish you and Howard and your entire family a Very Blessed New Year!
Same to you Patricia…I will read your comment to Howard 🙂
Mary Ann,
You, Cindy, and Annie cover most of my interests and I wouldn’t change a thing. I love fashion posts since they are pretty and appropriate for those over 50 (20 years over, but who’s counting?) Your posts about the wedding were wonderful and I always come away with ideas and inspiration from your decorating posts.
You’re one of my favorite bloggers and I appreciate your consistency.
xo,
Karen
You are the best, Karen!

Just made the crab cake remoulade this morning and I too am a Chesapeake Bay reader! Can’t wait to serve it tonight, thank you! Happy New Year!
You live in a beautiful area. Have a great dinner tonight!
Would you do a post on how to make your bedroom set look more modern? I replaced the headboard with an upholstered one. But the rest of the pieces are oak. While I like the shape of the pieces, I do not like the oak. It was a very expensive set so I’m trying to make it work. I thought perhaps I could paint or apply a dark stain. What do you think about the raw wood look?
Painting may work, Joanna. Can you email me a photo?
PS. Our bedside chests are natural pine and I like it with our painted bed frame.
Hi Joanna. We just saw a house with oak cabinets and chunky squarish black handles. I think it really modernized it. Also refinishing or oiling or waxing the pieces could give them a newer look. Get some black hardware and hold it up to the furniture and see if you like the look. You could try painting it, but oak has a strong grain, and needs a very good painter to get a smooth finish
Ann
Great ideas!
I did think about new hardware but not black and not chunky. I’ll pick one up and see if it suits. Thank you for the suggestion Ann.
Your post “Five Ways to a Healthier You” – that is my New Year’s project – thank you for all the inspiration – design and living a good life – always fun to ready your blog.
Thanks, Stacy. I am going to reread that post!! Happy New Year!
I enjoy all of your posts, especially cooking and travel tips. Happy New Year!
Thanks, Janet. Happy New Year to YOU!
I didn’t miss any of these! I ordered 3 ponchos for gifts. My daughter wore it almost everyday when we were in the Blue Ridge foothills at Christmas!
My sister wore her poncho the day after Christmas. Sounds like you had a lovely Christmas.
I didn’t miss a one! I especially like your clothing style since we are similar in height and weight ( I’m working on the weight part). I like that you started putting your height, weight and size in those post. Happy New Year to you and your family.
Cathy
Thanks, Cathy. My weight will hopefully decrease a bit after Jan. 1 🙂 Jeans are a little snug!!
Happy New to you and your family! Thanks for commenting.
