Sometimes it just takes one thing to give you lots of ideas for everything in your closet. These straight off-white jeans by Madewell (they call the color “tile white”) provide a new/vintage look for Spring and Summer.
Today I’ll show you how I am wearing these jeans…five ways!
My friends are also giving us their takes on white denim for Spring. Their links are at the end of the post. So get ready for lots of over 40 fashion inspiration!
New Straight Off-White Denim Jeans
White jeans can look a bit tired after a few years…so I’m not exactly sad about “retiring” my white skinny jeans in favor of this high-waisted, slightly thicker, looser, off-white pair. I like how with the thicker fabric, you can’t really see through them.
It just took one pair of new, updated jeans to come up with some combinations with things I already had. You probably have similar tops in your closet.
Off-White Denim With Peasant Top
These are size 28 Petite straight-leg jeans (I’m 5’1″ and these come in standard and tall, too). They have a looser, more comfortable fit. The ankle bone showing is a newer look.
The peasant top was on sale at the Loft and sold out quickly. There are similarities here: round yoke puff sleeve tops.
The gold Olukai flip flops are great for running around (my sister and Cindy H. swear by them)…” design principle is behind its signature anatomically contoured footbeds, which deliver the perfect balance of instant comfort and lasting support.”
Ecru Denim With A Short Sleeved Buttondown Shirt
I tucked this Madewell button-down shirt in my waist, but I like it out too.
The Vince Camuto platform sandals are really comfortable. My sister bought some after trying mine on.
Straight Off-White Denim With A Shirt Dress
This chambray shirt dress is a few years old from J. Crew. I’ve even worn it as a bathing suit cover-up and this outfit out to a casual dinner. You could probably use any shirtdress in your closet.
With the buttons open, and a teeshirt underneath, it looks like a duster. I’m wearing this with higher espadrille sandals. This brown color is no longer available but these are.
Classic Combo Of White Jeans And Black Top
This black tee is from Loft (on major sale). I like the looser fit. The leather slip-ons are no longer available but I love these Vans too.
Printed Tee With White Jeans And Canvas Sneakers
This is an outfit that you would see me in out running around in here in Jacksonville, Florida. The packable straw hat is by J. Crew. The tee shirt is old from the Gap (here’s a similar one). The canvas sneakers are from Madewell (this color is no longer available but these are).

I love this post, there is no summer without a white jeans. I love all your choices, it looks like you lost a lot of weight, which I guess having extra room in jeans is always a good thing, right ?
The government officially announced the end of COVID and I’m still nursing my post COVID weight gain 😏. I guess that’s here to stay.

No…I just sized up in the jeans, Liana…and these are a looser fit 🙂

I’m with you MaryAnn I love a nice off white addition in my wardrobe too as well as pure white denim. I’m a fan of Everlane denim and love a looser straight leg cut too. You always look adorable in your jeans or anything for that matter.

You are so kind, Kathy!!

I love the shirt-dress combo with the denim, what a great idea! I also appreciate and love a great pair of Ecru denim as well for when you don’t want complete white! Love all of these looks!

Your post was great, Noelani.

Greatly enjoyed all of the reports – except the one on French style. Sadly, the link doesn’t work, or I’m sure that would have hit it out of the park as well. Here’s hoping it can be fixed! Thanks for all the fun!
Mary Ann Pickett says
The link is working now, Barbara.

I love the stripe shirt and the duster…I have one but it does not have buttons which would certainly give me more options! I might have to go to Madewell and get that stripe shirt…never met a stripe I didn’t like:) Thanks for including me!
Mary Ann Pickett says
You are amazing with white jeans, Sherry!
Teddee Grace says
Like the looks of some of these, but none of the links will open for me.
Mary Ann Pickett says
Perhaps try refreshing your browser, Teddee. They are working for me. Thanks!!

Love the shirt-dress look. You show how a petite can wear that look beautifully. Love those tan madewell sneaks, and you know I love the olukai flip flops. I think you can’t go wrong with black and white either! All great looks!
Mary Ann Pickett says
I think of you when I wear those flip flops, Cindy!
