How To Create Simply Classic Natural Holiday Décor

Hello! Knowing I was doing this Simply Natural Holiday Décor post with Annie and Cindy and some of my favorite bloggers got me into overdrive a couple of days after Thanksgiving! (Their links are at the end of the post).

This is a completely updated post for 2021. I like to use things I already have in new ways and by adding fresh greenery. Since we are going to be joining the family in Palm Springs for a few days over Christmas, I didn’t get a Christmas tree…but that didn’t keep it from getting festive!

Simply Natural Holiday Décor

1. Creating An Entrance With Simply Natural Holiday Décor

I bought these little faux pine trees from Pottery Barn when they went on sale after Christmas last year. But guess what? They are on sale right now again!

There are some affiliate links at no extra charge to you. Thank you!

They are pre-lit with timers so that they turn off at bedtime. The natural pinecones came from the Sierra mountains…I’ve had them for several years now.

2. Mirror Décor

The fresh mixed pine garland is draped around the foyer mirror with twinkle (again on a timer) and I moved the bench underneath it.

3. Coffee Table Decor

The silver tree collection is on my Serena and Lily rectangular tray with pine clippings and votive candles.

4. Fresh Winter White Flowers

Our niece and nephew gave us these pretty white flowers mixed with pine and eucalyptus. This fits the Simply Natural Holiday Décor theme! The well-made white vase is on sale now.

Everyone loves the knitted Pottery Barn throw (makes a great gift). The pillows are from Krinto on Etsy.

Simply Natural Holiday Mantel

The mantel is draped with fresh pine garland and I added the tall hurricane lamps that I’ve had for several years (bought them in Paris 🙂 The candles are battery operated on timers (again)…this little place is so fun at night when all the timers come on!

The wreath is from Trader Joe’s but I want to embellish it after reading how Cindy did that here. Cindy is very clever with her imagination and a glue gun! The wreath is attached to the mirror with this suction hook.

Mary Ann, everything looks so beautiful! I love the table in the hall with the trees and pinecones! Have a wonderful weekend!

  3. Mary Ann, So very lovely! Would you be kind enough to tell us the size of the white vase featuring the white flowers & greenery? The web site indicates it comes in small & large and I’m having a difficult time sorting out the appropriate size for my usage. Thanks so much for your blog and your help!

Oh Mary Ann, it’s all so beautiful!! Love what you did with the garland over your foyer mirror. I bought the same PB trees after Christmas last year too! Hope you have a wonderful Christmas in Palm Springs!

  6. BEautiful and serene. I went straight to Amazon to order the suction hooks so I can copy your wreath on the mirror. The PB trees are really fun the way you’ve varied their heights. I’ll bet it’s magical when the lights come on in the room.So many great ideas for inspiration!

  7. Stunning Mary Ann! Those hurricanes were well worth the carry home. Love the PB trees – might have to pick one or two up! Thanks for inviting me!

Mary Ann! So elegant and natural all at the same time! So perfect for your city apartment! Makes me wish I lived next door so I could pop over and see it in person! But your photos are gorgeous as always!

  9. Marry Ann, this is absolut6ely beautiful. I love your mantel this year, the simple collection of trees in the entry, your coffee table. It is all just perfect, just the right amount of holiday cheer to compliment the beautiful surroundings!

  10. Always love your posts. The natural Christmas decor is just beautiful. Perfect for this covid year. I picked up a swag at TJ’s after seeing what you did with your mirror. I did not want to put up too early for fear of it drying out before the holiday. You mention how you attached the wreath, but how did you attach the swag???
Happy news about your daughter’s engagement!

  11. I’m such a fan of the simplicity and beauty of unadorned greenery. It’s so peaceful too. You did a beautiful job Mary Ann.

  12. Hi Mary Ann,

This tour was fantastic! The simple, calm and natural look feels peaceful during this pandemic. Your dining room table is so inviting. I may not find those little trees this year but I’m filing that away for inspiration next year.

Merry Christmas to you and yours.

So pretty Mary Ann! We used to hang a small wreath on our dining room mirror but replaced it (an upgrade) last year so no more.
All of our Christmas decorations are in the garage which is downstairs from the main level. I have been shlepping stuff up and down the stairs for the last few days. I told my husband if we remodel we need to install a large dumbwaiter lol. At least we have a laundry shoot!

You and Cindy have nailed it!!! Most gorgeous EVER. I’m thinking Covid had something to do with it? We don’t need more of anything in 2020 – we’ve had quite enough! The simplicity is so darn perfect. (We all know how difficult that kind of simplicity is!!!) Thank you. MERRY CHRISTMAS!

  21. Where did you purchase the trees for the dining table?
    Thank you!

  22. Mary Ann – I am for “Christmas light” when it comes to decorating for the season. I love your mini trees and the brown satin ribbon. This is a wonderful tour! Merry merry to you & yours!

  25. Hi Mary Ann.

I love what you’ve created in your home this holiday season. The natural palette and special touches are so inspirational. I just love the use of pine cones throughout your home for a very cohesive look.

    cheers!

    1. Thanks, Claudia…I got most of the pinecones in Mammoth or Lake Arrowhead. Love your table!

  26. So much fun in San Francisco this time of year. Even with all the problems, it’s still one of my favorite cities. Your apartment looks ultra-cozy and probably smells amazing with all of the green! Stay i touch!!! and if you are ever in your old neighborhood we should get together. I’m down on Lido a lot ;)) xo

  27. This is so gorgeous! I love the mirror decor, so classic and timeless. The trees in buckets are darling too, and the table decor so clever. I love every single element you used. So festive and natural!
