I hope you are doing well! In an effort to bring some joy into our lives, many people have started decorating for the holidays with gusto! Me too. I love simply natural holiday décor.
And today, I am in good company with Annie and Cindy and some of my favorite bloggers for this Home Tour: Christmas Inspired By Nature. Their links are at the end of the post.
Simply Classic Natural Holiday Décor
Our Foyer
Instead of one big tree, I have two real three-foot trees on the chest. They are from The Home Depot and came with a plastic stand for water. I put them in waterproof galvanized looking buckets. They smell great when you enter our home.
Chief approves…
There are pinecones and some of my favorite ornaments in an old French farm basket with mini twinkle lights, lights on the trees, and a candle in an old terracotta pot that I bought in Provence.
Mirror Décor
I love to decorate mirrors or windows. Here I used a swag and wreath from Trader Joe’s and brown satin ribbon. The wreath is hung on the mirror using a suction cup hook. These work in windows, too.
Dinner Table With Mini Cypress Trees and Pinecones
This table setting is more winter inspired and could last beyond Christmas Day.
Here is how I set the table…
You can see our living room decorated for Christmas here. And that is my Simply Natural Holiday Décor!
This is so gorgeous! I love the mirror decor, so classic and timeless. The trees in buckets are darling too, and the table decor so clever. I love every single element you used. So festive and natural!
Thanks, Cindy!!
So much fun in San Francisco this time of year. Even with all the problems, it’s still one of my favorite cities. Your apartment looks ultra-cozy and probably smells amazing with all of the green! Stay i touch!!! and if you are ever in your old neighborhood we should get together. I’m down on Lido a lot ;)) xo
I would love that, Kelley!
Hi Mary Ann.
I love what you’ve created in your home this holiday season. The natural palette and special touches are so inspirational. I just love the use of pine cones throughout your home for a very cohesive look.
cheers!
Thanks, Claudia…I got most of the pinecones in Mammoth or Lake Arrowhead. Love your table!
Great idea for the little cedars on your dining room table. I always enjoy your posts
Thanks so much!
Beautiful!!
Mary Ann – I am for “Christmas light” when it comes to decorating for the season. I love your mini trees and the brown satin ribbon. This is a wonderful tour! Merry merry to you & yours!
I love your tour, Kelly. And your writing is wonderful.
I THINK YOU NAILED THE NATURAL LOOK!
GREEN GREEN GREEN!

Ha! Just what I was going for!
Where did you purchase the trees for the dining table?
Thank you!
I got them at the SF Flower Mart, but I saw some at Trader Joe’s, too.
You and Cindy have nailed it!!! Most gorgeous EVER. I’m thinking Covid had something to do with it? We don’t need more of anything in 2020 – we’ve had quite enough! The simplicity is so darn perfect. (We all know how difficult that kind of simplicity is!!!) Thank you. MERRY CHRISTMAS!
Mary Ann, I love how elegant your natural Christmas decor feels…which is so perfect for your city apartment. It feels right! I love the silk ribbon with garland and wreath on your mirror! The trees on your table and how creative are you with the video!? The music you chose is perfect! Very pretty indeed!
xx
Love the natural look. You nailed it. I love it. I also love your dog with his bow tie. Adorable. The whole look is so inviting.
I can almost smell your entryway trees; how charming. The natural beauty on your dining table bespeaks serene serenity.
Merry,
Diney on Camano Island
Mary Ann,
I love the decorations. Natural is my favorite way to add Christmas cheer. Thanks for the ideas.
xo,
Karen
Never in a million years would I have thought of decorating with brown ribbon for Christmas! I love it! Definitely going to change things up next year. Thanks for the inspiration!
Thanks so much, Donna!
Gorgeous foyer Mary Ann, your holiday decor, that chest, cane chair,……. and your dining table, divine! Even Chief is in on the action.
Miss you my friend! Thank you for including me
xx

So pretty Mary Ann! We used to hang a small wreath on our dining room mirror but replaced it (an upgrade) last year so no more.
All of our Christmas decorations are in the garage which is downstairs from the main level. I have been shlepping stuff up and down the stairs for the last few days. I told my husband if we remodel we need to install a large dumbwaiter lol. At least we have a laundry shoot!

Meant to say “chute”…I can spell really!
HAHAHa! I knew what you meant!
Hi Mary Ann,
This tour was fantastic! The simple, calm and natural look feels peaceful during this pandemic. Your dining room table is so inviting. I may not find those little trees this year but I’m filing that away for inspiration next year.
Merry Christmas to you and yours.
Thanks, Treva! I saw the little trees at Trader Joes!
I’m such a fan of the simplicity and beauty of unadorned greenery. It’s so peaceful too. You did a beautiful job Mary Ann.
Always love your posts. The natural Christmas decor is just beautiful. Perfect for this covid year. I picked up a swag at TJ’s after seeing what you did with your mirror. I did not want to put up too early for fear of it drying out before the holiday. You mention how you attached the wreath, but how did you attach the swag???
Happy news about your daughter’s engagement!
The swag is just draped on the mirror since it sort of has a ledge. Merry Christmas, Sue!
