Ahhhh, to have organized jewelry for a beautiful display! I have fun things today like my new reasonably priced jewelry rack, a delicious Spring salad, iconic local shop and a casual dress you can throw on all summer. Be sure to check out Annie and Cindy’s favorite things, too.
It feels good to be settling in our new home. Someone asked how I was “repurposing” our San Francisco apartment furniture. Well, the pieces I love, like the antique bookcase that we bought while living in Paris (that used to be in our dining room) is now in what feels to me our huge bedroom.

The movers broke the glass front on the left, in addition to a few other things. But we bought moving insurance. There are some affiliate links at no extra charge to you. Thank you!
1. Hanging Organizer Creates Jewelry For A Beautiful Display
It’s so nice to be able to see all my necklaces displayed on this hanging jewelry organizer. For $25 it’s pretty and sturdy! My daughter made the bowl that holds my bracelets.

2. Mrs. Howard Shop
I love the decorator Phoebe Howard. So it was fun to go to her beautiful shop in nearby Jacksonville Beach. Take a look at the shop!

Mrs. Howard, as her clients call her, is known for soft blues and an upscale coastal feel. I loved everything but they have a great selection of fairly priced designer pillows and lampshades. And the staff was very friendly.

3. Pea, Mint and Prosciutto Salad
For dinner with Mercedes and Mark on Thursday, I took this Bon Appetit Arugula and Pea salad over to their house. The only things I did differently:
- add 1/2 tsp lemon zest to the dressing
- crisped the prosciutto over medium heat in a frying pan
- added a little shaved Parmesan
- skipped the fresh horseradish (I didn’t have any)

I will make it again! Check out my Salad Recipe Pinterest board.

5. Summer Eyelet Shirtdress From Gap
This Gap eyelet shirt dress is good for just running around in the summer. It’s on sale ($56) and comes in different colors and in regular, petite and tall. I’m wearing a petite medium and may order it in the mineral color, too.

The Madewell sidewalk sneakers seem to go with everything. My small Tory Burch satchel is from last year and it’s in other colors now. You can tell I’m new to the area by my white legs!

Mary Ann,
I love the bookcase you’ve moved from each home since your time in Paris. I know your home must be lovely. It will be fun to see each room as you finish putting your magic in.
xo,
Karen B.
Thanks, Karen. I am waiting for things so it feels like this will take awhile even without remodeling.
You’re killing me with all these books. You know of my addiction. đ Your jewelry organizer is great … especially the tiers. The top tier to hang longer chains is so good. I need it. Oh my gosh, your salad … so pretty and looks delish. Bummer about the breakage, but it happens. Thank goodness for insurance. I’m excited to see more of your fabulous new home. xo
I know! I bought a couple.
Mary Ann love that dress! What a great go-to for the summer. I will get this! You look pretty and happy, Hope all is going well. Sorry about the glass, but the chest looks great in there with you necklaces. It must be nice to have a big space again. Love those books too. The Summer Thornton one is in my cart and The Anna Spiro is my favorite! I will follow your salad board! xo Kim
Mary Ann,
I love the dress, and the shoes! Such a great outfit!
I love Mrs. Howards shop!!!! I have been many times and I love it more each time I go there.
The salad looks delicious!
I am sorry the movers broke your things. I had one thing damaged in the move and it still irritates me.
Have a great week,
Elizabeth
I love that chandelier that is the tiered undulating hoops…can see that there is a price tag hanging on it so it must still be current….do you have any more information on who makes it or the price?
I love the dress. I’m about your size and will scout that out this week! Thanks!
Hi Mary Ann,
Well, youâre a Florida gal now! You sure look cute in that adorable eyelet dress. I think I would freeze wearing it here, too âair conditionedâ but I might just try it anyway!
That store, oh my it looks fabulous. The colors are so restful, that would be someplace I would want to visit often.
Sorry there was some damage to your belongings, but I guess itâs inevitable when thereâs a cross country move. At least you got everything. Iâve heard horror stories.
Your recipe reminded me that I make a similar salad, with mint, peas, prosciutto and feta or parmesan. So delicious and refreshing and surprisingly filling! Yum!
Hope you have a great May Day filled with flowers!
Xo Heidi
Hi Maryann
It is so funny Steve spotted a jewelry rack similar but bigger at The Alameda Flea Market. I think it will be great in our new bathroom. That dress is darling on you but no above knee looks for me! That salad looks amazing!
So jealous of Phoebe Howardâs store!!
So much good stuff today Mary Ann! It must feel so good to be getting settled. When you’ve gotten as far as your jewelry, you know you’ve come a long way in the unpacking! Love that dress Mary Ann! You look adorable!
Hi MaryAnn, Your move will give you so much new creative comment. Looks like youâre already quite settled and I hope youâre very happy. Mrs. Howardâs showroom is amazing and hard to believe itâs not someoneâs residence. I want the fabulous, unique garden stool in the first picture. The crown moldings, beams, draperies are so rich and elegant. The one miss, in MHO, is the painting in the dining room which gives off a chilly vibe. I like the Gap dress but think itâs a bit short for me, even with tan legs! You can pull it off. Thanks for the salad recipe, perfect for spring. Have a great weekend.
Thanks, Wren…she had lots of pretty garden stools. You can get the dress longer in regular and tall. In fact, I may order the small regular in mineral. But I will appreciate the “to the knee” length when it gets HOT. đ
Love that Gap shirt dress on you. Does it have a lining or do you need a slip underneath?
It has a cotton slip that comes with it.
You were wise to get moving insurance! Sorry to hear some things got broken. I love Melanie Turner’s book and Summer Thornton’s is next on my list to buy. (she has my maiden name) đ
Sounds like you are getting settled in…moving is such a chore. Especially cross country.
Linda
I want so many new books!
