Framed Art From Target, Great Design Books And More
Even though it’s still hot as blazes here in Florida, it’s fun to look at the Fall decor, including the framed art from Target in the air conditioning! I’ve done a little gallery wall collage with this inexpensive art, a lemon blueberry tart that I made again, a trick for top heavy indoor trees, some great design books and more. It’s time for my favorite things with Annie and Cindy.
Vintage Reproduction Art From Target
I was walking around Target this week and noticed all this inexpensive but lovely wall art. I prefer original art but this could be a nice wall display in a kitchen, office or gender neutral nursery. The prices are around $15 to $32 each for framed art.

20″ x 16″ fruit still • 18″x18″ Mountain Landscape • 12″ x 16″ silent still life •• 16″ x 24″ dark framed floral • 16″ x 20″ line portrait • 12″x 12″ Prairie
A couple of these could be nice above a toilet in a powder room or on a kitchen shelf.
Sturdy Step Ladder From Target
This is coming in handy in my closet to reach the higher shelves. You can order online and pick it up in the store.

Trick For Leaning Indoor Trees
Remember our fiddle leaf fig tree that we had in San Francisco? We gave it to the kids in Los Angeles, and while I was there I trimmed it and straightened it out with some string tied to a picture hook (a leaf is disguising it a bit).

This tree is 10 years old! The key is to have it exposed to natural light for half the day and water once a week (not too much).
Lemon Blueberry Tart
Recently, I served this Lemon Blueberry Tart again. There was some of the lemon curd mixture leftover that didn’t fit in the pan. So I baked it in two little ramekins and sent them home with our dinner guests.

Lemon Blueberry Tart
Ingredients
Pastry
- 1 1/2 cups all purpose flour
- 2 tbsp sugar
- 1 pinch kosher salt
- 1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, cold, in chunks
- 1 large egg, separated
- 2 tbsp ice water
Filling
- 4 large eggs
- 1 1/2 cups sugar
- 1 cup fresh lemon juice, about 5 lemons
- 1/4 cup heavy cream
- 1 lemon zested
- 1 pinch kosher salt
- 1 pint blueberries
Instructions
- To make the pastry, pulse the flour, sugar, and salt together in a food processor. Add the butter and pulse until the dough resembles cornmeal. Add the egg yolk and 2 tablespoons ice water and pulse again until the dough pulls together. Wrap the dough in plastic wrap and let it rest in the refrigerator for 30 minutes
- Roll the dough out on a lightly floured surface into a 12-inch circle. Roll the dough up onto the pin and lay it inside a 10-inch tart pan with a removable bottom. (alternatively you could use a 13 3/4" x 4 1/2" x 1" high tart pan like I did).Press the dough into the edges of the pan and fold the excess dough inside to reinforce the rim. Cover the tart pan with plastic wrap and put it into the refrigerator for another 30 minutes to rest.
- To bake the shell, heat the oven to 350 degrees F.
- Put the tart pan on a baking sheet and prick the bottom of the dough with a fork. Cover the shell with a piece of parchment paper and fill it with pie weights or dry beans. Bake for 25 minutes. Remove the parchment and weights. Lightly beat the egg white with 1 teaspoon water and brush it onto the bottom and sides of the tart shell; set aside to cool.
- Whisk together the eggs, sugar, lemon juice, cream, zest, and salt. Add the blueberries to the cooled tart shell (as much as will fit in one layer) and pour the filling over the blueberries. Bake for 20 to 25 minutes. The curd should jiggle slightly when done. Cool to room temperature, remove from the tart ring, and serve
We have a lemon tree that has tons of lemons on it right now (still green). So expect more lemon recipes in the Fall and Winter! You may also like A Roundup Of My Best Desserts.
Three Great Design And Lifestyle Books To Order
Here are some great things like three design books I’ve ordered and I think you will like, too.
At Home in France: Inspiration and Style in Town and Country Hardcover – September 3, 2024 by Timothy Corrigan
“In his third book, AD100 and Elle Decor A-List designer Corrigan shares the joys of decorating and living in his Paris apartment and new chateau infectiously inspiring us to design à la française.”

I’m excited to read about his home in Paris (and his favorite places there) and his newly restored and photographed chateau!
Cindy featured designer, Beth Webb and her husband Chuck Hanavich recently (great post by the way) and announced the pre-sale of Beth’s new book:
Embracing Beauty: Serene Spaces for Living Hardcover – February 25, 2025 by Beth Webb

I just ordered it so I don’t forget. “The highly anticipated second book from esteemed, Atlanta-based interior designer Webb, known for her ethereal, lushly textured interiors, is a study in organic elegance.”

Beach Life: Home, Heart & the Sea Hardcover – May 21, 2024 by Lauren Liess
Lauren Liess is so genuine and a breath of fresh air.

“Lauren Liess, the bestselling author of Habitat, Down to Earth, and Feels Like Home, explores the allure and magic of coastal living.” She’s talking my language with the therapeutic benefits of the sea. I have the book on my bedside table.

Mary Ann! It’s like you’re reading my mind! I have a fiddle leaf fig that is in need of support, and I had no idea what to do! A stake is out of the question…it’s way too tall. I’m going to secure it the way you did today!! Before I leave for Paris! Otherwise I think it might topple over while we are away!
That lemon blueberry tart is so good!! 5 stars!!
That inexpensive art…I like that line drawing like you said above a toilet, maybe. You have the best ideas!
Xx
Thanks, Annie!
