Great Television: The Durrells in Corfu
Several of our friends recommended the comedy/drama show: The Durrells in Corfu on Amazon Prime. There are a number of seasons. “…features Keeley Hawes as Louisa Durrell, a widow who moves her family from England to the Greek island of Corfu in 1935.”
We are still on Season One and love it. The scenery is beautiful and takes me back to our trip to Greece last summer…which now seems several summers ago :/
Speaking of which…
Greek Stacked Salad
I made this again last night.
You can find the Stacked Greek Salad recipe here.
Coffee Table For Summer
Purchasing this pleasantly fragrant Pottery Barn candle and putting it in an old glass hurricane motivated cleaning the coffee table thoroughly and rearranging using things I already had.
I love your coffee table tray and would love to know we you purchased it!
HomeGoods a couple of years ago.
LOVED THE DURRELLS………I think I watched it on NETFLICKS a few years back!

Mary Ann! I love your favorites again this week! As soon as we are done with Succession I think we are going to need something like Durrells in Corfu or Seaside Hotel as one of your readers recommended! Those masks especially for teachers or people working with children seem like a wonderful idea!
That greek salad is so pretty and I am sure tastes amazing. I definitely need to make it! The Prime suggestion sounds like just what we need and escape! Love your five favorites!!
I love YOUR 5 favs, Cindy!
I loved the Durrells- watched all seasons and was sad it was over! Be safe and well my friend!
Same to you, Nancy!!
That mask is really cute. Great idea. I love your stacked salad Mary Ann. I have to try it this week. We loved the Durrells. I honestly think it is one of the best shows ever made. Love that it was based on a real story and a real family. Just adore all the characters! Fun post. Have a good week. xo
Just last night my husband and I finished watching The Durrells and we loved all four seasons. We will have to check out the recommendations your readers mentioned here. That salad will be on the menu this week. Thank you for these Sunday treats!
Thanks, Anne Marie!
Great post! Always love your decor ideas and I really needed some new viewing suggestions! Your Greek salad is so artfully arranged and looks delicious. A friend and I were just wondering if there is a mask that’s clear and here you have it! We miss seeing smiles! Thank you!
I watched the Durrells in Corfu when it originally aired and really liked it. As another reader has noted, the last seasons weren’t my favorites, but I felt they were worth watching for scenery if nothing else! I love what you’ve done with your coffee table and always enjoy your pillow posts.

Thanks so much, Paula!
Mary Ann,
I loved the Durell’s. I may have to watch it again. I ordered the Smile Mask. I love the idea of people seeing a smile.
xo,
Karen
I need to order that mask before we visit my mom again.
These Sunday posts mean so much to me. You do a beautiful job combining interesting bits about fashion, food, decor and entertainment. During this extremely trying time, you make a big difference in this girls life! Thank you.
Lily, that brought tears to my eyes. It’s hard on all of us. I appreciate YOU.
Loved the Durrell’s in Corfu from beginning to end. Always enjoy your post.
Oh good. It’s just so nice to have something to watch and now we have suggestions from readers, too. 🙂
Oh boy…5 more great things to add to my want list. You always have the best pillows and I’ll definitely check out these sources. Fun face mask but I wonder if it would fog up like my glasses do,when I have a mask on! We watched The Durell’s in Corfu and loved the first and second season but then we thought it wasn’t as good. That salad is not only delicious looking but beautiful. I’m going to make it for sure. You’re a pro at changing up your coffee table too, always love it.
Happy Summer!
That happens to us Gail when a series doesn’t stay good (or gets dark).
Mary Ann,
I so enjoy these Sunday posts from the three of you lovely ladies! It’s fun to see the variety!
Thanks, Kathy!
Thanks you. Love your tips.
You and hubby might try watching episode Shetland series
It reflects the beautiful Shetland Islands of Scotland.
I too, ordered the pottery barn candle!!
Agin, many thanks!
Sounds fun, Maureen. Thanks!!
Loved the Durrells in Corfu. You might enjoy Seaside Hotel. It’s set in Denmark and there are subtitles (so you have to pay attention) but it’s darling. The set design is stunning – love the wallpaper! They use beautiful table linens and dishes and I love the way they film the food preparation. It’s a lovely show.
Perfect, Suzanne. We will check it out.
Pillows and candles oh my ! Both are an everyday weakness of mine , I didn’t even finish you fabulous
post before I ordered the wicker candle….
I change my trow pillows seasonally and occasionally when I just can’t resist a new one (pillow trouble is
on the way ).
How do we show you what good students we are using your coffee table tutorials?
You pack a lot of fun in these beautiful posts and don’t we need the distraction right now
Now I’m off to enjoy beautiful summer in Montana it’s our reward for the long winters,
My mom used to say God was just showing off on days like this
Alexis, if you get my emails, please send me a photo in response with your coffee table photo. I’d love to see it.
Enjoyed your “5.” The Durrells in Corfu sounds good.
We like it, Linda!
