A Dream Wedding In Maui And More

June 2, 2024 By Mary Ann Pickett 12 Comments

We were invited to a dream wedding in Maui for the marriage of Madeline and Nick. The couple did most of the planning with their families and wedding planner, Brittany Kahalekai from Maui Love Weddings and Events doing the execution.

All the guests felt the welcome and love of this “ohana” (family in Hawaiian). Maui, the second largest Hawaiian island, is a paradise known for its stunning beaches, lush landscapes, and breathtaking sunsets. This wedding took advantage of it all!

Let me show it to you and there’s more as it’s Five Fave time with Annie and Cindy!

1. The Perfect Wedding In Maui Venue – The Pineapple Chapel In Kapalua

As we arrived, were welcomed with a lei, a symbol of love and respect in Hawaiian culture and there was a cocktail reception.

2. The Ceremony

The chairs and altar were set up outside on the grass overlooking the ocean for the ceremony. The officiant was our family friend, Dennis who gave a meaningful blessing.

3. Hawaiian Traditional Luau Performance And Lesson For Guests

The groom’s family vacationed for many years on Maui and Nick’s mother secured a beautiful luau show for us. Then, there was a lesson for the guests!

It was so seamless and fun.

4. Elegant Dinner Under A White Tent With Ocean And Sunset Views

The mother of the bride, my friend, Cathi, devised the place settings with the floral designer. Her husband, Eric did the menus as well as the art on the invitations.

The food was really exceptional. It was a fine dining experience thanks to Cutting Edge Catering and Chef Brian Etheredge. They did a great job serving quickly at once so that it was more like a restaurant and less banquet-y.

5. Dancing To Live Music Inside the Pineapple Chapel

Howard and I had so much fun dancing with our new and old friends inside the Pineapple Chapel after dinner. On Maui, live music can only be played indoors until 10 pm.

Where We Stayed On Maui, Hawaii – Napili Kai Resort

We enjoyed staying at the family friendly resort where Nick, the groom’s family vacationed for years. It has a lovely beach and the rooms come with small kitchens and large balconies with views of the ocean. I’d love to go back.

Welcome Putt-Putt Party Ice Breaker

The resort has a putt-putt course and the hotel organized a game where are partners were all mixed (see above). Afterward, Madeline gave out awards and Louisa won one for youngest putter an I got one for a hole-in-one…so fun!

Post Wedding Elegant Beach Barbecue

The day after the wedding, a lovely gathering was hosted near the Ritz Carlton. We had delicious grilled burgers and played corn hole.

To Madeline, Nick and the Kreher and Dystra families, we thank you from the bottom of our hearts for an unforgettable, magical experience. Aloha!

The $30 Polarized Sunglasses That Look Good On Everyone

Tori’s I-sea retro sunglasses come in lots of colors and look surprisingly good on most women. My daughter and I both liked them on. The polarized lenses feel nice out in the bright sun.

This toddler checked set is so cute and easy…we might order it in another color!

    Hi Mary Ann,
Or should I say Aloha?! The wedding looked beautiful, I’m glad you had such a lovely time.
Hawaii is a long haul for you guys now. It’s closer to me but I haven’t been in over 10 years. I need to work on that!
Hope you are enjoying the weekend.
