Here are some of the best wall hooks for stylish, easy living. They have become essential as a quick place to hang towels by the pool, hats, bags, leashes, and a pretty way to display our copper pots.
You might be able to install the hooks yourself but we hired a handyman named “Rian with an I.” He’s like a nephew now since he’s done so much work here like mounting TVs, mirrors, heavy art, stringing party lights, etc. He’s fast but finds the studs and does it right.
My point is don’t stress about doing it yourself if it’s not your thing. Use one of the apps like Handy or Task Rabbit for these chores.
Now let’s get on to my Five Faves with Annie and Cindy this week!
Towel Hooks
We love having a spot to hang towels so that they are ready for you when you get out of the pool.

This 60″ hook rack is from West Elm. Howard watches sports on the television here.

You can see his Ooni pizza oven that cooks with gas, wood, or electricity. Howard loves this space!

Back Door Hooks For Hats And Bags
Rian installed these metal Target hooks up the wall. It’s a good place to stash a purse and the bags and hats are convenient to go to the beach. We have some of these close to the back door too, for leashes.

The wall hooks sort of create an organized drop zone.
Guest Room Vintage French Hooks
Guests remark that they like having a place to hang their purse or jacket. And they have even used the beach bag here (similar from Target) to walk to the beach.

You can find vintage wooden hat hooks on Etsy.
Hooks for Pots and Pans
I polish the pans about every 6 months with Barkeepers Friend. You can see how I polish them here on Instagram.

The rods and hooks are from Amazon.
What To Read/Listen To:
The Covenant of Water – by Abraham Verghese
I just finished listening to this immense new book (read in the author’s voice). “From the New York Times-bestselling author of Cutting for Stone comes a stunning and magisterial epic of love, faith, and medicine, set in Kerala, South India, following three generations of a family seeking the answers to a strange secret.”
It really takes you away to a foreign land with characters that are rich, funny and poignant.
A Handy Stool That’s Cute Enough To Leave Out
Serena and Lily is having a tent sale. About three years ago, I bought this sturdy little teak stool on sale since it’s not cheap. It’s on sale again (now is the time to grab it).

This striped glass vase is also in the Serena & Lily tent sale:

If you are new here, each Sunday I share my top five favorite things along with my friends, Cindy and Annie. It’s like our weekly “catch-up” phone call. If you would like to receive this series every week, please sign up HERE.

Hi Mary Ann – I’m a NUT for hooks!! Why don’t hotels ever have them? I add that to every comment card… Hot tip…there’s a line of bath towels from IKEA that has loops built into the towels, perfect for hanging from hooks! I have them in white at our place at the beach…BKF question – can that be used on vintage BRASS? If not, can you recommend another product you’ve tried? Love your blog. Thank you!!
We love wall hooks, specially having kids, great for baseball caps sports gears and all. For the pool I prefer towel valets as they come with a hamper for the soiled towels and we can wheel the hamper straight to the laundry
Mary Ann, I love all of your wall hooks! They look beautiful! But honestly, how do people not have wall hooks? It’s the first thing we add when we move into a house! And our homes are over 100 years old.—and it appears that we are the first to add hook in the entryway!! Love the one outdoors!!
Good timing for me! We just moved into our New Hampshire summer home. It needs hooks everywhere. How lucky am I with your post this week!
Kandy
Exciting, Kandy!!
Hi Mary Anne, thanks for these great ideas. At the beach house and boy things got rusty over the winter but BKF is an amazing product and gets rid of that surface rust on knives, other cutlery and s/s appliances and it’s a great sink cleaner too.
Mary Anne would you share the colour your kitchen cabinets are painted. I’m looking for something that’s not pure white.
Thanks
The cabinets are Benjamin Moore China White. Have fun!
The pizza oven link went to the West Elm hooks. Do you use gas for your pizza oven? And do you have some pizza recipes? I love BKF — the powder, the soft scrub and More for different applications. They work so well.
opps…I will fix that!
We like this pizza recipe:

Great post, Mary Ann! Gonna check out EBay for wall hooks…yours look so pretty!
And Cutting for Stone is one of my all time favorite books! About to download Covenant of Water ( can’t believe it’s available on Libby) but will probably need to “speed” listen…says it’s 31 hours!
Thanks for the recommendation!
I love Bar Keepers Friend, I use it on everything! I bought a large vintage hammered copper planter at an estate sale that had layers of patina, BKF cleaned it up pretty well. .Have you ever tried BioKleen enzyme cleaner? That stuff is amazing…I recently discovered it works on mildew as well as any of the chemical shower cleaners. I found out about it through the Clean mySpace YouTube channel. Melissa owns a cleaning business and has the best tips. She actually motivates me to clean!
I purchased some Euro shams from Serena and Lily at 70% off in February and shortly after they went back to full price.. They have great sales!
Linda
So much good info. Linda! Thank you.
Great ideas!
Good Morning,
I am planning on getting a tv for our new screened in porch. Is your tv an outdoor one or just a regular one?
Thanks!
C
We just used an older on from inside and bought a slighter bigger one for inside.
