Five Faves: Shopping Cool Home Stores And MORE

Last week was fun as I did a little shopping at some cool home stores in the area and had lunch with fun friends (who started out as clients–love when that happens). It feels like a return to a more normal existence! How is it where you are?

Don’t forget to visit Annie and Cindy’s Five Faves, too.

Shopping Cool Home Stores…

Orchard Nursery and The Lazy K Shop

After lunch in Lafayette, California, the ladies took me to Orchard Nursery and The Lazy K Shop (which really has something for everyone–great gifts). If you are local, you should stop by!

Serena and Lily – San Francisco

Last week, I also stopped by Serena and Lily. They are having a Memorial Day sale right now where everything is 20% off.

So if there is something you have been wanting…now may be a good time. I really like their trays and bedding.

Cool Home Stores: The Vintage Rug Shop

I found the Vintage Rug Shop on Instagram. It’s local in Oakland. I’m glad I finally stopped by!

Howard doesn’t notice much in the way of décor, but he said “Mares, I love this paper towel holder!” Which I picked up there.

They have an online shop. too.

Caravane San Francisco

Since I have shopped at Caravane in Paris, I was excited that they opened a shop in San Francisco on Sacramento Street (next to Serena and Lily). They have beautiful textiles and the prices aren’t bad for their pillows. In fact…

That blue-textured lumbar pillow is from there (can you spot it in the above photo–lower right corner?).

A Good Book

I know I have mentioned this before, but I enjoy getting FREE digital and audiobooks from the library with the Libby app. If I’m not really into a book after a few chapters, I just return it…no guilt like I may have if I purchased it.

The Invention of Wings

This week I listened to The Invention of Wings by Sue Monk Kidd. She also wrote The Secret Life Of Bees. “Hetty Grimke, an urban slave in early nineteenth century Charleston, yearns for a life beyond the suffocating walls that enclose her within the wealthy Grimke household. The Grimke’s daughter, Sarah, has known from an early age she is meant to do something large in the world, but she is hemmed in by the limits imposed on women”.

I couldn’t stop listening to it on my walks…which made me walk further!

Outfit Of The Week

This is the Johnny Was dress that I wore to lunch. It’s comfortable, has pockets, and will pack up nicely for travel. I will take it with me to Spain in July. I wore it with flat sandals to lunch and with my heeled espadrilles for dinner. I think Johnny Was runs a little larger so I got an extra small for my shorter frame.

*  I like this Sephora $14 lipstick: “A high-shine, super pigmented lacquer lipstick with a balm-like texture. It contains Shea and Mango Butters: Known for their hydrating and nurturing properties and Vitamin E: Provides antioxidant properties”.

Also, Nordstrom is having their Half Yearly Sale right now! I run around in my white sneakers so much (with pants and casual dresses), I have my eye on these Nikes at 40% off.

Thanks for stopping by for my Five Faves including Cool Home Stores in the Bay Area and my outfit of the week! Let’s check out what Annie and Cindy have for us!

Hi Mary Ann, these look like very cool places to shop! My husband and I went to One Paseo yesterday with our granddaughter. I wanted to check out the new Serena & Lily store which was going to be our last stop. They had just closed for an hour lunch so guess I will have to look next time. :o(
