My Pottery Barn Accessories On Sale, Cute Outfit, Delish Weeknight Dish

Just wanted to let you know about some of my Pottery Barn accessories that are marked down now with the Pottery Barn Winter Sale (and an extra 20% off clearance). There’s also Howard’s quick Sausage Broccolini Orecchiette Pasta, and an outfit of the week that I’m wearing now.

And there’s more as it’s Five Fave time with Annie and Cindy!

1. Pottery Barn Accessories On Sale

Here are some Pottery Barn accessories worth noting as they are on sale! This velvet channel stitched lumbar that gives a pop of color in our guest room is on sale now.

This Performance Area Rug a good price especially if you need a large rug like we do (11 x 14′) but it comes in lots of sizes and colors. Ours is a denim blue that feels like a neutral.

This Blue And White Floral Block Print Cotton Tablecloth is marked down (we have two to use indoors and outdoors when it warms up). It washes nicely in the washing machine. Also, the terracotta vase in our living room is on sale.

If you want to bring in some warm peach/clay tones (from my recent 2024 Trends post), these 20″ velvet pillows are 20% off with code: EXTRA

Pretty Taper Candles…even though these are not on sale, they are worth mentioning as they are dripless if not placed in a draft. There are lots of pretty colors. They last eight hours (at least two long dinners worth!)

Howard’s Sausage Broccolini Orecchiette

Ingredients

  • 2 tbs  extra virgin olive oi
  • 1/2 lb Italian sausage de-cased and chopped
  • 1 garlic cloves, peeled sliced
  • 1 cup chicken stock
  • 1/2 tsp sea salt plus more for pasta water
  • 1/2 tsp Italian seasoning
  • 1/2 tsp pepper
  • 1 lb Orecchiette pasta it means little ear shaped in Italian
  • 1 lb broccolini chopped
  • 1/2 cup grated Pecorino Romano cheese plus more for serving

Instructions

  • Bring a large pot of boiling water to boil.
  • Place sliced garlic in a skillet over medium heat and sautée until the garlic starts to become fragrant
  • Then add the sausage meat, frying and breaking it up with a wooden spoon. Cook until no longer pink and is beginning to brown.
  • Add chicken broth, Italian seasoning, salt and pepper. Turn down the heat and allow to simmer while the pasta and broccolini cook (approximately 13 minutes)
  • When the water is boiling, salt liberally (approximately 2 tablespoons) and add the pasta and cook according to package instructions. In the last three minutes add the chopped broccolini. Before draining, reserve a cup of water. Drain the pasta and broccolini then add to the pan of sausage
  • Stir the pasta, broccolini and sausage well adding the Pecorino Romano cheese and some of the reserved pasta water if it seems dry. Taste and adjust the seasoning if necessary.
  • Serve hot with a drizzle of extra virgin olive oil and more cheese.

3. Outfit Of The Week: Windbreaker and Flannel Shirt With Booties

It was drizzling outside, so I wore this outfit while running errands and to a casual lunch with Howard. I can wear orange the windbreaker (size Petite Small–30% off right now) in the Spring and even with a bathing suite while boating. The flannel tunic (size Regular Xsmall) is cozy.

The booties are sold out but I’ve linked others below.

4. What To Watch: “Fool Me Once” on Netflix

We binged the first four episodes of this British mystery in a row…still watching. It’s a bit violent.

“When ex-soldier Maya sees her murdered husband on a secret nanny cam, she uncovers a deadly conspiracy that stretches deep into the past.”

5. Golden Globes Hair And Makeup

This article by Elle in the UK highlights hair and makeup at the Golden Globes. We recorded it to watch it without commercials…and even still I couldn’t stay up late enough on the east coast to finish it!

I enjoyed reviewing some of the hairstyles (more here). I’d like to try the pinned back behind the ear look for a formal wedding coming up. It seems to require a large side part. Would you wear your hair like this? The updo is cute too.

Today is the last day to fill out my survey about what you would like to see more/less of here. If you haven’t already, please fill it out here.

  1. Hi Mary Ann. Do you mind telling me what color in on the walls of your living room?

  2. Hi there! Can you please tell me how many servings the recipe makes? Thank you so much 🙂

  3. Love a bedroom sitting area, can’t wait to see yours. I watched The Holiday AGAIN too! Thanks for the heads up on the PB sale … I’m tempted by the velvet pillows. xo

Hi Mary Ann!! I love the pasta recipe!!
Can I ask which to use? The chicken stock or chicken broth? Does it matter?
Also, how is your sweet pup? I haven’t seen him lately?
    Thanks!!

  5. We don’t have any streaming services. Some of these shows/movies you mention sound great but not enough to warrant paying for streaming services.

    Love your blog!
Fool Me Once was crazy addicting and suspenseful! And THAT MUSIC! You’ve probably finished the
    series by now…..the ending
is unexpected! Let me know what you think.
PS. Always like to read about your sister…I live in SD also.

      Crazy ending.

Lovely post thank you Mary Ann.

  9. I think you would look amazing in that updo. It offers face framing fringe and height! I’d love to get some battery/timer candles from Pottery Barn. Do you have a favorite style? I’m on the fence with flickering wick that’s exposed. I’m thinking the ones that give a gentle flickering glow from inside like the candle has been burned down look more realistic? Do you get a small credit when I use your link even if I purchase things you have not linked?

    1. Mary Ann Cunningham Pickett says:

Thanks, Bess. If you use any PB link of mine for the candles, I will get credit. I buy the flickering wick candles. But you may be right about the others.

  10. Janet Arden says:

Started watching “Fool Me Once” yesterday while my husband was geeking out on football playoffs. So good — can’t wait to finish!

  11. Catherine says:

I just finished watching “Fool Me Once.” Please come back and let us know what you think about the ending.

    1. Mary Ann Cunningham Pickett says:

      Ok!!

  12. I wore that same style with a embellished clip to a wedding in Nice in 1989. We watched Fool me Once this week. I look forward to watching Corbin’s other shows too.

    1. Harlan Coben mysteries are great! I read a lot of his books too.

  13. HA! I can’t believe we are watching the same movie! Howard’s pasta looks delicious. I could eat pasta every meal if my waist would cooperate!!
