Mother Daughter Mid-Summer Swimsuit Refresh

Hello! It’s Alexandra here… Mary Ann’s daughter, freshly back from a month at the Classic Casual Home headquarters in Atlantic Beach, Florida with my husband and two toddlers. Between beach days, country club afternoons, and endless hours in my parents’ pool, we basically lived in our swimsuits for four straight weeks.

By the end of it, my mom and I realized we were both in need of a mid-summer swimsuit refresh. So… here we go!

My Mom’s “Cover Up First” Approach

Living in Florida my mom has a lot of occasions for swimwear. She told me her trick is to search for one pieces that come with a matching cover up so they feel more like an outfit.

Look how cute she looks here in this Miracle Suit Set with Leo on a boat a couple of weeks ago!

Hunza G Crinkle Bathing Suits

This brand has been around for a while – they claim to be the “original Crinkle” bathing suit. They do one-size-fits-all, which sounds a little intimidating at first, but the stretch is honestly great and it fits well.

I love my blue one piece so just invested in a new mint green two piece. I really like the high waist and the mother of pearl detail on the top. They come in a range of colors, are really good quality and very comfortable.

A Few Bathing Suits on Sale

Here are a few things my mom and I noticed from the 4th of July sales, including a really reasonable J. Crew dupe of my new Hunza G two piece (argh!!). I did actually just buy the bottom in black to refresh another leopard bikini where bottoms had stretched out.

Some Fun Ones for Kids

I spotted a cute little brother and sister duo on the beach the other day in matching swimsuits. The mom mentioned they were from a website called ClassicWhimsy.com. Bonus: you can monogram them! And almost everything is on sale.

And for Louisa and Leo, I’m loving that Target carries RuffleButts (girls) and RuggedButts (boys). The patterns and reversible options are so good. Also just realizing… I’m very into stripes right now!

And A Few Fresh Accessories

It’s always nice to throw a few new smaller pieces into the mix to freshen up your wardrobe. I love the Ossa phone chains and the clear sandals are an Amazon dupes for popular designs from more high end brands like the Row. My mom also loves this Salty Face body tanner and how it doesn’t streak using the fluffy brush.

Ok, that’s all from me today! Hope this gives you a little inspo to refresh your bathing suits and get out and enjoy the summer sunshine.
