Do you love fresh traditional interiors as much as I do? Spaces that include traditional furniture with new fabrics, wallpapers, and accessories. I have someone for you to follow if you do. Also, my grandbaby is modeling her new Zara dress that I bought her on sale, a good book, and more…sort of all over the place as it is:
Five Faves with Annie and Cindy!
1. M. Steffen Fresh Traditional Interiors
Lately, I don’t see everything I want to on Instagram but this account stopped my scroll and I went to her account page to see more of her work. M. Steffen Interiors has a beautiful Instagram account with photography by @rossgroupcreative.

Missy Steffens agreed to let me feature her work here.

Makes me want to wallpaper something again!

2. Zara’s Big Sale (and their kid’s clothes, too)
Zara Kids
Here is my granddaughter, Louisa in the blue poplin smocked dress that I just bought her. It comes in sizes 9 months to 6 years. Zara does have some cute kid’s clothes. Things go fast at Zara when they have a sale.

Louisa, at 10 months, is trying to walk (falling a lot) and moving so fast, I could barely get her photo.
Zara Womens
This short embroidered dress that I wear as a cover-up or as a long tunic is inexpensive especially now. The workmanship is nice. It would be cute over white jeans or leggings.

I am wearing a Size Small. At 5’1″, it comes just above my knees. The packable straw hat is from J. Crew.
My daughter sent me the link to this green paisley outfit. It would be cute and comfortable with a white tank and the shirt open. I will probably have to have the pants shortened…but worth it at this price.

3. Bark Box For The Treasured Dog
Do you have a special dog/dog owner in your life? My sister, Teresa ordered a subscription custom gift box for Chief and we both got a kick out of it!

They each have different themes and this one is an Italy Playcation. Chief is allergic to chicken and so Teresa chose treats without chicken. So cute. Thanks, Teresa.
4. What To Read/Listen To The Magnificent Lives of Marjorie Post by Allison Pataki

This was a fascinating account of the cereal heiress’s life. What an amazing woman…not too lucky in the husband department but you will have to read it!
Which got me wanting the Post Grape Nuts cereal that I loved as a kid.
5. When Was The Last Time You Ate Cereal For Breakfast?
We just bought a box of Grape Nuts again and it’s pretty healthy…all whole grains and no sugar added. I made a simple yogurt and fruit for breakfast.

If you are new here, each Sunday I share my top five favorite things along with my friends, Cindy and Annie. It’s like our weekly “catch-up” phone call. If you would like to receive this series every week, please sign up HERE.
Let’s see what Annie and Cindy’s Five Faves are this week:
Mary Ann,
Welcome home! I loved seeing photos on Instagram of your sweet granddaughter!
I am not a fan of grape nuts but I do like Cherios. As for Marjorie Post, she did indeed have an amazing life. Her former home in Washington D.C is gorgeous.
Love that kitchen, funny, I did not notice the gaps for the stove until I read the comments.
Have a happy and safe 4th of July.
Hi Mary Ann, Love your posts and suggestions. Thank you for the reminder about Grape Nuts. You made me crave it so I went and bought a box at lunch. You may have a lot of readers here because they were low in stock at the grocery store.. Can you tell me how you realized Chief was allergic to chicken? I have a 10 year old Boston Terrier and sometimes he gets very itchy and uncomfortable. like he is now. I am wondering if it could be his dog food.
Ha! So funny, Claudia. We were brushing Chief’s teeth with a chicken flavored toothpaste and he immediately started to get sick. Apparently, lots of dogs are allergic to chicken.
Thank you for replying Mary Ann. That is a different reaction. So glad you figured it out. I am going to eliminate chicken for a while and see if it helps.
I don’t thank you often enough for your tips. Babe Louisa is adorable!!
On the subject of Grape Nuts, it was the only cereal I would eat as a child….at 75, I’m afraid I’d break all my teeth!!!! Haha…..
Thanks Maureen… just let the cereal soak a bit!!
Hi Mary Ann,
Louisa is beautiful and it’s hard to believe how fast these little ones grow!
I love Grape Nuts. I still buy the occasional box, it takes me back in time.
So many pretty things in this post. Thank you.
Karen B.
I don’t really like cereal but I did love grape nuts! Steve eats a version of your parfait every day for breakfast. So funny that Ally sent you that green outfit from Zara. It was on my wishlist! That dress on darling Louisa is so adorable! How does she crawl in a dress?
There is a box of Grape nuts cereal in my pantry as i write this. I love this cereal, and have for years. However, my husband call them “rocks” and doesn’t eat them lol! Does anyone remember the Euell Gibbons commercial? Boy, did I just date myself!
Oh my gosh, I did the same thing after reading the book. I always liked Grape Nuts and still do. As always, love your blog (all three of you). Thanks for sharing.
Isn’t that so funny?
Baby Louisa is looking adorable as always, wow 20 months already ? I see that she’s getting some curls , is she going to be a ginger ? Nothing like a red haired Italian girl to set every party on fire 🤌🤌🤌.
She’s 10 months, Li. Hopefully she will get some curls…both her parents have them. You are so funny about the red headed Italian 🙂
I love Grace-nut. It is #2 on my cereal rotation. Since my all time #1 is Shredded Wheat–which again is no sugar. I eat Grape-nuts with fresh berries and yogurt or skimmed milk. Shredded Wheat is always with a banana . #3 is oatmeal ad fruit of anyone.. However, I usually eat it in the winter.
I loved the Zara outfit. I need to take a look. We don’t have a store near me and I like to try my clothes on before purchasing. Honestly, there were so many good ideas on today blog, thank you.
Thanks so much, Beth. I need to try Shredded Wheat again!
Hello – I have to ask, in the photo of the kitchen stove, why are there large gaps between the stove and cabinets? Am I looking at it wrong?
By the way, your granddaughter is adorable!
Thanks!
I was so focused on the hood and backsplash…I didn’t notice that they were still waiting for the new range. Long lead times :/
I can’t stop looking at those darling photos of Louisa!! She’s adorable in that Zara dress! Love that that 2-piece green outfit too!!
Grape nuts…hmmmm, buying a box!!
Xx
Hi Mary Anne! Highly recommend Pataki’s book it’s so interesting. She was a smart cookie but not when it came to men Grape nuts is so good with yogurt and fruit though I’m partial to Bran Buds too.
Mary Anne can you cast some light on that slide in stove situation going on in your M. Steffens photos? I love her style and was happily looking through the photos picking up ideas until I hit that one. Was she waiting on a new stove? It’s awkward looking and kind of threw me off just wondered if she addressed it.
I’m sure she was waiting for the stove! Everything has been taking so long to get since the pandemic.
Your grand daughter is so adorable! I love the outfits you find for her. Isn’t Alison Pataki a great story teller? I’m really looking forward to this book about Marjorie Post. I have always been a big fan of biographies — I’m reading Sally Befell Smith’s book about Queen Elizabeth now and loving all of it.
Oh thanks, Janet. I need to get that book.
Hi Mary Ann,
Louisa is too cute, I love the pic of her looking up at you. It’s so sweet.
