Something about it being 95 degrees outside in late August makes me excited for cooler weather and transitioning our home for Autumn. That, and a little visit to our local air-conditioned Pottery Barn. It was already transformed with fresh, new Fall home decor.
Let me show you what really caught my eye for some subtle changes to make this time of year.
Fresh Bedding For Your Home For Fall Decorating
Pottery Barn has such beautiful new quilts with French Provençal flair!

Toile Handcrafted Reversible Pick-Stitch Quilt I Love this look. Every time I go to France, I consider bringing one home.

Add A New Pillow To Refresh Your Living Room
I’m a sucker for a new pillow and these look rich and feel nice.

The Belgian linen pillows are great, too. I’ve bought several for myself as well as for clients. The moss shade below is cool on the embroidered pillow.

I like seeing yellow-gold hues again and it’s fun in a throw pillow on your couch…a nice Fall color,

Faux Autumn Leaves
It’s nice to bring in real Fall foliage from outdoors but I hate the mess. Enter faux Fall leaves…these have little acorns.

Love the texture of the wicker vase and natural wood candle holders too (my friend has them on her mantel and they are on sale now).
Accessories: Add A New Wicker Tray And Fresh Autumn Candle (That’s Subtle)
Not exactly ready for a pumpkin spice or cinnamon candle? How about a softly scented one like this Fern Grove (that I bought as a gift)?

I also love natural elements like this beautiful Monique Lhuillier oval wicker tray. It’s not inexpensive (I’m tempted to get it for our entryway as it’s reduced in price). It looks well made.
Those are some ways to gradually transition your home for Autumn. As it gets cooler, I will slowly layer more pieces like white pumpkins, gourds, perhaps a fall centerpiece of apples on the dining room table and throw blankets.
Do you have any late Summer early Fall decor ideas to share? See you back here on Sunday for my Five Faves!
How many faux branches do you need? I don’t need i5 super full. Thinking three?
Thank you!
You could start with three and see.
Lovely post thank you Mary Ann. I bought the wicker vase! Perfect as we have a large gathering in the works and that will look fabulous:)
I love those toile quilts. Saw them in the store the other week when I was there. Not sure how I feel about all the olives and golds coming back but everything cycles around. For Fall, I have a couple terracotta pillows that I mix in with my blue and white pillows. They look surprisingly good together. Then I add a few terracotta decor items and a white pumpkin canister on my kitchen counter and call it a day. A couple weeks before Halloween, I add a few ceramic pumpkins.
Those are my colors too!

You found some treasures at PB. Love that quilt…very tempting!!
I know, Cindy!! So pretty.
You do the best colors! I’m guilty of choosing too much bright and bold color. I love the way you mix color with neutrals. Ready for a little fall. it was 105, actual temperature yesterday here in Mississippi!
Wow!!! And I thought it was hot here. Stay cool.
