Chic Barn Jacket
Recently, J. Crew sent me some casual Fall clothing to try out from their November New Arrivals. What’s not to love about that since I am a regular customer anyway!?
This Barn Jacket in plaid double-faced cotton gets great reviews and I can see why! I took it right out of the box since I couldn’t wait to try it…and it’s a tad wrinkled (which have since fallen out).
I’m wearing it with these comfortable, dressier Western style boots in chocolate brown from Dolce Vita.
Cashmere Cardigan In Chocolate Brown
I’m always happy to wear a cardigan as they are so comfortable! My daughter once said that cardigans are “my signature.”
This cardigan in chocolate is in a medium and I’m wearing it with my flared Mother jeans.
Denim Vest And Matching Jeans
Essential cutaway vest in denim (size 6) I mentioned this vest before. • Denim trouser jean I had to the jeans shortened to be able to wear them with flats (but they also look good with the chocolate boots above, too). I’m wearing this now with a t-shirt but on Friday night I wore this with a long sleeved shirt to dinner.
Here are the comfortable Rothy’s Penny Loafers that I bought after my France trip with Mercedes (she loved hers on the cobblestones). These j. Crew wide leg jeans (petite 27) are my favorites as they are actually flattering on my short frame.

“You’ve come a long way baby!” If you grew up in the ’60s and ’70s you know that slogan! It came to mind when I saw your Denim Vest And Matching Jeans outfit – you look great! When I was a junior in high school I was sent home to change clothes because I wore a “denim pantsuit” to school because jeans weren’t allow! My Mother was so angry she and her 2 girlfriends took me out for the day – lunch and shopping for… new wide leg jeans! It is hard to believe how much fashion stays the same – and changes!

Great looks on you Mary Ann. Do you mind me asking what sizes you purchased in the Varley activewear? Do you find them running long in the length (top, sleeves and pant length) for a petite person?
Rose, I got them both in small. You can see how they fit me at 5’1″…a little blousy but comfortable.
