Easy Fresh Herbed Grilled Halibut With Lemon Garlic
Here is Howard’s easy fresh herbed grilled halibut with lemon and garlic recipe that’s perfect for when it’s too hot to cook. There are also two other full proof recipes that our family loves like Tommy’s grilled shrimp and a Summer Tomato, Peach Salad With Buttermilk Dressing.

And it’s cooking inspiration time as…I’m joining friends for their easy Summer recipe recommendations, too! Their links are at the end of the post.
Howard’s Herb Container Garden
It’s great having fresh herbs for decorating platters and including in recipes like fresh basil, rosemary, mint, parsley and thyme. So fun to just go out and clip!
Howard planted herbs in metal wooden looking planters from Home Depot.

Above are simply grilled lamb chops with roasted potatoes…but the addition of a fresh rosemary sprig is pretty and fragrant.
Tommy’s Grilled Shrimp With Two Sauces
We live near Mayport, Florida which is a famous seafood port, especially for shrimp (so we cook it often). This is one of the ways our son, Tommy likes to serve it.

Recipe Text from Tommy (a man of few words but I did ask him while he was working):
“Marinate shrimp in honey, lime, salt and pepper, olive oil. Skewer them. Cook on medium-high heat quickly until they start to blacken. Baja sauce is mayo, cilantro, garlic powder, salt and pepper, lime juice, chili powder. Blend the mixture and refrigerate. Other sauce is the gyoza ginger sauce from Tjs.”
Summer Peaches And Tomatoes With Buttermilk Dressing
This salad recipe takes advantage of summer peaches and tomatoes. The buttermilk dressing adds a nice flavor. We found the recipe in a recent Southern Living magazine.

Easy Fresh Herbed Grilled Halibut With Lemon And Garlic
Buy fresh fish and you will love the taste of this uncomplicated dish! Howard bought the tender halibut steaks at Whole Foods.

You could also put the halibut fillets under a broiler in the oven or on a grill pan if you don’t have an outside grill.

Wish we could have dinner at your place, Kathy!
I’m envious of the herb garden.
Ha! I know. We lived for nine years in San Francisco with no garden! But I made indoor herb gardens in small pots.
