Easy Fresh Herbed Grilled Halibut With Lemon Garlic

This tangy and delicious recipe is based on Pamela Salzman's Salmoriglio Sauce Recipe. A Southern Italian sauce that's versatile.

Ingredients

  • 1 large clove garlic minced
  • 2 tbsp fresh lemon juice plus wedges for serving
  • 2 tsp dried oregano
  • 1 large pinch of crushed red pepper
  • 1/4 cup extra virgin olive oil plus more for grill
  • sea salt and ground pepper
  • 3 tbsp chopped fresh herbs like parsley, basil and thyme
  • 4 thick fish fillets like halibut

Instructions

  • Stir together garlic, lemon juice, oregano, and red pepper flakes in a small bowl or a glass jar. Let it sit for at least 10 minutes and up to 2 hours. Just before serving, add fresh herbs, stir to combine. Gradually add oil, stirring to combine; season with salt and pepper.
  • Lightly brush grill with oil or cooking spray. Heat grill to medium high. Rub oil on fillets. Grill until char marks appear, then turn and cook 2 to 4 minutes more. Transfer to a serving dish, top with herb sauce, and serve with lemon wedges.
