Pans made with copper are great for making sauces as copper heats quickly and evenly. And I like the “bling.”
It’s expensive bling, even when you can find it at Home Goods.
Dehillerin, a huge cookware store (with lots of copper),
is a favorite stop of ours in Paris.
Coastal Cottage Dreams writes about this store.
I saw this image on Design Chic…
and it reminded me of our kitchen.
Some of our copper, like the tray above,
has been bought at flea markets
…and comes with a pretty patina like these…
How pretty is Tina’s, from
The Enchanted Home, copper cookware?
Here is a good report on understanding cookware
and the differences in materials.
I keep these clean with just a little effort using
Try it on brass and stainless steel, too.
A chef at a cooking class once told us that every
kitchen could get by with just three basic pans:
• a copper sauce pan
(such as Mauviel M’heritage 10.9-Quart Sauce Pan)
(such as Mauviel M’heritage 10.9-Quart Sauce Pan)
• a stainless steel stock pot
• and an iron skillet
I made this centerpiece in five minutes using
kumquats from the yard and leaves from the indoor tree.
(ok, maybe it looks just thrown together).
Chocolate Chunk Blondies. Try them! They’re great.
I’ve already had two 🙁
But I packaged up most of them for our guests to take home.

I'm in love with your kitchen — would it be okay if I shared on my FB page this week with a photo and a link to your blog and FB page too?
Thanks & let me know!

Mary Ann, Dehillerin is a must visit each time we are in Paris. We discovered this store the very first time we visited Paris in the 1980. Those creaky wood floors and racks and racks of cookware along with the amazing copper pieces make my "chef's" heart sing. This is a great post. Thanks for sharing.
I have one copper pot….a vintage one from Scott's. need to get it out and style it up! Love that centerpiece you "threw" together😎
Hi Mary Ann,
I may have to begin collecting copper- just love this!
Mimi
Oh goodness, I love copper, and these images are fabulous, Mary Ann!
I had pin a few of these.

I remember my mom's copper bottom saucepans and skillets growing up, wonder what happened to them? I think I am too lazy, I don't eve polish the silver unless my mom is coming to visit! The copper looks lovely! AND those 'blondies' YUM!
xx
Yes, great minds think alike, both posting about copper. I would love some more that I can actually use and not just look at.
Maryanne
All of my copper has been banished to the garage as I did not take quite the care with mine as you have with yours…it looks so lovely in your kitchen!
Your kitchen is so fresh and lovely. Love your copper too.
I love copper too, your collection looks wonderful! Also, love the sign above your range, such a great idea. Happy Saturday:)
Thanks for reminding me just how beautiful copper pots are — so stunning in your kitchen! thanks for sharing!
Hi Mary Ann, Copper is gorgeous in the kitchen and I like the natural patina that it shows with age. I'm always on the lookout for a piece that is priced reasonably. These kitchen images are so pretty.. love the white, black, copper combination. Your centerpiece with the kumquats is perfect for a spring/summer table. So fresh and I like the green with pops of orange. xxleslie
I have a copper saucepan, skillet and frying pan and use them almost daily. Would love to own some more just 'cos they're so pretty. Your kitchen is so pretty too! Xx Sharon
Seeing your beautiful copper pieces reminds me, with much regret, that I had a big collection of copper pieces in the 70's hanging from a pot rack in our kitchen. I never really used them and after polishing them for what seemed like a thousand times, I sold them at a garage sale for next to nothing!! I know…..SO stupid. I did keep a small stock pot and now will bring it out and cherish it!!
As for Dehillerin…it was a MUST on my last visit to Paris with my nieces who are both wonderful cooks. We really had to restrain ourselves from buying out the whole store!
And your arrangement is fabulous! I love how you used your Fiddle Leaf Fig leaves, but HOW did you have the nerve to cut off those 2 gorgeous leaves? I did get a replacement for my living room and am babying it with lots of sweet talk and love so it will last longer than the last one!!
Have a wonderful weekend!
What a great post and gorgeous pics. I've only ever had copper cookware since my teens – adopted a few from my grandmother and many from Mom. Luv Luv cooking with them!! I also wanted to mention that I kept them shiny by using stored used lemon halfs n' pieces with a bit of salt after washing them. Fast and easy. The lemon then goes into the disposal and that now even smells nice. 🙂
Have to try the lemons! I have a lemon tree.
Love copper…thanks for including a picture of my own kitchen in this beautiful post. It is expensive but timeless and lasts forever and every kitchen looks prettier with a piece of copper.
Did you really have to include a pic of the blondies? My weakness and now I am craving one at 7 am. Not good. Have a great weekend!!!
OI MARY ANN , TEU BLOG É LINDO.EU SOU DO BRASIL E GOSTARIA QUE VOCÊ ESCREVESSE UM COMENTÁRIO NO MEU BLOG.UM GRANDE ABRAÇO E UM FINAL DE SEMANA MUITO BOM E ALEGRE.

I had a dream that I would have copper posts hanging in my kitchen in our first home. I had some, but not enough to make a statement. It has been long enough, that I want them again. I love the photo's you have. The pots add such character and charm.
They are so beautiful. My MIL has a few that she says she'll pass on some day. Lovely.
I love your copper collection, it's superb!! I have just one small pan and a bowl for my K.Aid, lol.. I want to buy a saucer pot because it's the perfect size for many things. Your kitchen is fabulous, so inviting, you want to go and stay there! That store looks amazing. Big hugs,
FABBY
Oh man I luvvvvvv your kitchen!!! The warmth of the copper ware looks amazing. If you have any blondies left, send them my way 😉

Mary Ann you just taught me something about copper and sauces, now I need a copper sauce pan. I think your centerpiece is perfect and the best part is when you go to serve and need room on the table you can simply remove the outer big leaves. You'll still have a great center piece afterwards. Your kitchen is wonderful and inviting!
Enjoy your weekend!

Mary Ann, The copper looks perfect in your already beautiful kitchen, I love the glimmer of copper too. Lucky guest to take-away brownies!! YUM
Happy Weekend,
PS put up my family room reveal today, we are almost done, still a bit more to do, but the basics are all in place,
xo Kathysue
Your centerpiece does not look thrown together at all…looks very pretty.
Wow, that second kitchen really does look so much like yours. Copper pots are so darn pretty. We always talk about classic and timeless, but copper really fits the bill. So pretty!
I have antique copper pans and I can't seem to make them work in my kitchen… I find the stainless appliances clash with the copper.. maybe it's the color of my cabinets. I love the copper in your kitchen. Going to rethink this 🙂
Your kitchen is beautiful, Mary Ann!
Beautiful! Your kitchen makes me instantly want to start chopping an onion and entertain.
Abby M.
Mary Ann…love your kitchen and I have always loved copper pots…miss you stopping by..have a great weekend!
A copper sauce pot is my next kitchen purchase. On another note, your center piece looks great. 🙂
Sharon
Lovely post and thanks for mentioning my post on Dehillerins.
Have a wonderful weekend, Mary Ann.
Absolutely love Dehillerin – spent over an hour in there and still kick myself for not figuring out how to get some of their copper pots back home! I love the centerpiece and no, it doesn't look thrown together!! Have been throwing kumquats into salads as of late – love them!!!
