Last week, while in the East Bay, I stopped at the large Target in Oakland, California. After grabbing a shaken iced green tea at the Starbucks in front of the store (a 45 calorie indulgence), I went off to discover some brilliant home finds at Target. Yes, this is a favorite activity of mine that I don’t do very often since we only have the smaller City Targets in San Francisco. How about you…do you like a Target stroll to see what’s new?
But first, did you happen to catch my last fashion post? Everything from Madewell is now 15% off if you sign up for their Insiders emails (which pushed me over the edge to buy the scarf and striped mocked T) and J. Crew is 30% off.
Back to Target… I always make a brief pit stop at the bargain section.
Target Seasonal Bargains
Pretty and colorful small bottles for $1.00 and the $5.00 candle scents were nice…especially Blue Sky Breeze (or perhaps I just like the name). I only see the votives on-line.
Faux Blooms
I like to put things in my cart while considering them…like the little gray vase, faux eucalyptus berries, and tea towels. The artificial thistles below would be cute on an open kitchen shelf.
Kitchen accessories
I bought the black soap dispenser for our kitchen.
Complementary Frames
I like to use larger photo frames that can be mixed for clients.
You probably know about this, right?
Save 5% and get Free Shipping at Target – Apply for a REDcard
I have the one that is just like using my debit card except I save 5% on everything at Target…worth applying for it, I think.
Tray
This is a great little tray in my office.
House Planters
These white terra cotta planters are a good update for our mantel.
And here’s my little five dollar scented candle and faux eucalyptus berries in our reading nook (with my flea market tray and bone beads… and blue pillow from Serena and)…
And that’s it for brilliant home finds at Target!
I have a question about the mirror on the mantle. I recognize it from Anthropology. Did you change the gold finish or is this how it came? I love it!
It’s the gold finish and I haven’t done anything to it. Thanks.
Do you have a link for the tray that your soap dispensers and candle are in? I love it! Thanks!
No but it was at Target. I got one for my mom.
YOUR VIEW!
IS LOOKING AT OUR OLD CONDO!TO the RIGHT of ANGEL ISLAND is POINT RICHMOND!Can you make out buildings close to the water?Well we still own one of those units at BRICKYARD LANDING!They use to make bricks there 100 years ago and the ovens are part of the LANDSCAPE!

Love stopping by our local Target to see what’s new. But I have learned that if you see something you like, better buy it then or it could be gone in a flash! Have fun shopping!
I love these posts. I do love to browse through Target to see what’s new and if anything is a fit for my home.
I love the scented candles and of course pillows and trays are a weakness.

Like I need a nudge to go to Target…what a fun place to shop! The red card is great, especially the free shipping. So if my target doesn’t have it, I can just order it.
You’re making me homesick! I was always a big fan of Target. Much more stylish than Wal-Mart.
Wow Mary Ann! You hit the jackpot! I’m usually with Kenny when I’m at Target and so I never get to take my time and really look. Going to have to go by myself. Love the blue pillow from Serena and Lily. And I love the rug I see just a tiny bit of too! If it wasn’t pouring out,mid head over right now! There are 4 Target stores close to me so might have to hit them all!
Ha!!! You are lucky, Gail. I have to drive out of SF to the bigger Targets. Raining here too.
What a great post! I am now inspired to kick the winter rain and doldrums to the curb and sweeten up the house with some pretty Target posies!
Yes and get a Starbuck’s treat!
Love this post!!
Thanks, Kristen.
Who doesn’t love Target? They do such a good job. Now I am going to have to shop your picks. You always find such good stuff!
I am LOVING that blue cabled pillow! You did not have it in your cart, but do you happen to have the link for it??
I love it too…the only thing holding me back is I don’t think it has a zipper and I like to put in better inserts…but you could probably find it on-line or in the store.
These are all great finds! I agree about adding the nicer forms to ready made pillows, it’s a game changer – but – it’s super simple to undo the closure, add the new insert, and hand sew it closed again. I used to think this seemed like a chore, but I actually prefer it to negotiating cheap zippers or losing a “side” because a hidden closure really isn’t all that hidden.
Great advice if you find a pillow cover that you really like!
Great post!!! So much inspiration!!
