A Home Office Becomes A Fresh, Cozy Nursery and Other News

Back to the sweet nursery… It’s an easy walk over to Katherine’s home here in San Francisco.  She and her husband are expecting their first child and she asked for my help in converting their home office into a space for the baby!
We needed window treatments.  And look at the unusual shape of the room…
But we made room for all of the essentials, like a changing table/dresser and

a comfortable glider chair… This is from Crate and Barrel and is well made.

(In fact, I have other clients that have two of these chairs in their family room and we just bought new slipcovers for them in a spruce color.  The chairs are seven or eight years old…still comfortable and now they look like new).

Hey, this was really fun styling these shelves and looking at the baby clothes Katherine received at her shower.

Love the Serena and Lily gold reading lamp…an investment, but it makes the room.

Did you know that blankets for infants aren’t used in cribs anymore (to prevent SIDS)?  I just put that there for the photo.

The linen, black-out roller shades from Smith and Noble were the solution for the floor to ceiling, narrow windows and tight space.

The photography art is by Gray Malin.
I think the best part is that Katherine’s chair swivels, so that when she is not looking at her baby boy…she has this view…
