Is your dining room looking a little dated? Not many people can afford to toss everything and start over, right?
If you have followed this blog for a while…you know I like to use what people have. In this case, Jackie had too much matching brown furniture…and she wanted a more casual feel for their Southern California lifestyle.
These were photos she sent me so we could work together by e-design.
Jackie wanted a new foyer flush mounted light fixture and because I can’t help myself…I said “Hey, what about painting your oak coat rack and front doors, too?” Cute dogs, by the way.
And AFTER
…her husband got to work…what a wonderful man! It’s not easy to get guys to paint stain. Looks more coastal.
Here is the mood board…
And after …
the walls and ceiling were painted and RH Botanicals hung…
The brown chest that was here before was replaced with a lighter console….with lots of room for serving food or setting up a bar.
The chairs were recovered on Ralph Lauren Pemba Lapis.
and RH host chairs added. Oh, and the big difference, I think, was the china hutch was painted.
We still need the curtains hung just below the moulding a…but hey, these guys did a lot…Bravo to them!
Jackie, you may want to put the pretty candle sticks back on the table.
And we used things they had…like this mirror.
I’m accompanying my husband on a trip to Moscow, Paris and London…part business for him and part fun for both of us (especially the Paris part). Follow on Instagram 🙂
