Bright Lipstick and Reading Glasses
In an effort to take the emphasis off my roots (getting my hair done on Monday after three months–alleluia), I am distracting the eye with bright lipstick and reading glasses. This has been my uniform for my 45 minute consults lately. Speaking of which, I have a couple of before and afters to show you soon. It’s fun to see what can be done in 45 minutes to an hour!!
This drug store Revlon brand stays put for a long time. I’m wearing “Ingenue” but it looks lighter online. • ICU Brand Readers from Target in Teal…I have a few colors. • My chambray shirt was from J. Crew and here is a similar one.
Colorful Fruit In Season!
I love watermelon season. Here’s how to pick a ripe watermelon. And how to cut a watermelon.
You can use any fruit you have on hand for this little platter. I started it with the watermelon slices and then filled in with oranges, grapefruit, peaches, and finally berries.
Rebecca Atwood For Pottery Barn
I’ve been a fan of Rebecca Atwood’s fabric line that she creates from her watercolor drawings. And now she has a line for Pottery Barn.
Giclée watercolor artwork 1, 2, 3 • Living With Color Book (tips to brighten your home) • Patchwork Cotton Bed Linens • Organic Swirl Towels • Cosmetic bags 1, 2

Thank you for all of these colorful ideas, you will have me looking at my island cabin a little differently as I spruce things up this morning!
Thanks for the good ideas.
The lipstick is pretty in the color you have on. Clever to have your smart-looking readers and lipstick divert attention. Haha.
I especially appreciate the tips on selecting a ripe/ready watermelon.
Thanks, Mary Ann.

What great ideas! I love that line of Revlon lipsticks. The color lasts all day! I found on I’d lost in the bottom of my make- up drawer and have been wearing it ever since. Have a great weekend!
I know! I just took a chance on it as I had a CVS coupon 🙂 I’d like to try other colors. You don’t need to apply much.
We’ve been having June gloom here so this pop of color post is just what I needed. I love dahlias and they make a beautiful summertime bouquet. I just wish I had somewhere to go to wear all my colorful summer attire. Bought a darling sunflower yellow top at J Crew but might have to save it for next summer!
Thanks for bringing some color to me this morning.
We have it today here too. Although I am starting to see the bay now. Usually, July is the foggiest though. Sounds like a really cute top, Gail!
