You’re Kilim Me!

I’ve been looking for a runner for our galley kitchen because:
a.  I hate the linoleum floor in our kitchen
b.  the floors are getting colder as winter approaches
c.  thinking something colorful would take your eye away from the fact that I hate the linoleum floor (I know I already mentioned that).

This is a cool Oushak patchwork rug at IKEA but it was more than I wanted to spend in an area where food stains are highly likely.

This was also at IKEA…
Kilims are “happening” as evidenced in Domino magazine.

I dragged Howard to the Alameda Antiques fair yesterday and we wheeled and dealed and got this kilim rug from Pakistan.

Only look at the rug or Chief.
Got that?  Not the rest of the floor.

Close-up.  We have these pinky corals, charcoal and white in the living room, too.
We hung this Pottery Barn curtain
(on sale) to close off my messy office…

The tie back is a belt.

This curtain is linen and cotton.

The curtain actually inspired me to straighten up my compact office.  Thanks for the flowers, Howard.

I organized instead of pulling out the Christmas decorations.
The baskets are from The Container Store and IKEA.
Well, wait…that is a new bay leaf wreath in the kitchen.

And I DID wrap a few presents with paper, ribbon and snow flake cards from Paper Source (I got an email from them about a 20% off sale–I just had to show the email on my telephone while I was there…it was not advertised in the store).

I’m a slacker in blogland as far as Christmas decor.
Keep up the good work everyone!
