The Design Influencers Conference was in San Francisco this week. I attended with my pals, Cindy, Annie, and Kim. With hand-sanitizer on many tables and given out as little favors, there was a good turnout in spite of the Coronavirus. Although sadly, the city felt quieter.
At the conference, I learned a lot but also realized how much I already know as a “seasoned blogger.” I try to keep up all the technical SEO aspects and Instagram, Pinterest, Facebook, etc. This was apparent when newer influencers were asking Cindy and me lots of questions during the break.
After close to 10 years of blogging…my education has been cumulative and it would be tough to jump in now…but there’s no time like the present for new people!
What I Wore To A Three Day Conference
We thought it would be fun to show you what we wore to a conference that’s more creative and less “businessy.” Cindy’s, Annie’s and Kim’s links are at the end of the post. The outfits are interchangeable and I would have only brought one purse if I had to travel here.
There are affiliate links and I will make a small commission at no charge to you if you make a purchase. Thanks for supporting CCH!
I also brought a laptop case to the conference similar to this black quilted one…
First Day of the Conference
The Anthro jumpsuit that I have in brown and black is sold out but I like it in black and off white, too. Really comfortable. • Purse similar • This leather moto jacket just keeps getting better (I’ve had it a long time). • Madewell sandals (on sale)…I wrote about all the good stuff at Nordstrom rack right now in this post.
Second Day of the Conference
This is a versatile “investment” pantsuit (blazer and pants). • I wore it with a favorite white Gap T-shirt. • Gold necklace (similar) • Leopard crossbody bag (similar to mine) • Block heeled sandals. I was planning to wear these but Cindy (she was staying with us) said I would be crazy to wear any heels (although they are pretty comfortable and I wore the other block heels the day before with no problem), I kept the Birdie loafers that I had on while walking Chief that morning.
Third-Day of the Conference
Short-sleeved Turtleneck • Gap Jeans Jacket (I’ve had for years). • Bracelet • Black purse • Polka dot skirt similar to my sold-out Anthro one. • Block heeled booties.
What To Watch On Television
From my last post…thank you to everyone who made suggestions on how to get off cable and do streaming. I will discuss this weekend with Howard. As to television shows to watch…We have already watched/enjoyed many of them like Anne with an E, Kominsky Method, and Virgin River all on Netflix.
We started watching: The Stranger on Netflix and will check out Catastrophe on Amazon. Thanks!
You all looked just darling, as usual! Must have been tons of fun! How nice that it was held in your hometown. As a relatively seasoned blogger I’ve wondered how much I’d get out of one of these conferences too. Would you attend again?
Mary Ann,
I really appreciate hearing from you all on clothes. I appreciate your style and often find good buys on the items you recommend. I know it would have been fun traveling with your friends to something like this even if you didn’t already know some of the materials on blogging. 🙂
xo,
Karen
Mary Ann! I always love your style. I loved every one of your looks. I may need to head to Bloomingdales and try on a Theory jacket and pants…so good to have and so many ways to wear it! It sure was a blast to see you and finally get the chance to meet Howard! Now I have met the entire Pickett family!
LOVED THE KOMINSKY METHOD!I must have missed that POST will go back and search!
EVERYONE looked so pulled TOGETHER!
FOR ME IT IS SO FUN TO SEE YOU ALL TOGETHER!!!!!!!!!
THIS BLOGGING stuff and I think I have been doing it for close to TEN YEARS TOO has had so many BENEFITS!
ESPECIALLY in the GIRLFRIEND DEPARTMENT!
Did you see one can get MONOGRAMS AT BIRDIES NOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I may need to pop over and we head down to UNION STREET!
XX
I would love that!!
Thanks for sharing the collages and available dupes. I can’t get into the booties with skirts or cropped pants. I try and try, but every time I put the booties on, I can’t take how they cut me off and make my legs look shorter. Not attractive on me – I either go back to a flared pair of pants/jeans or pumps or flats with skinny jeans.
Your Day 2 outfit was my very favorite, classic and timeless!
I love that suit. We have a Spring Fashion post coming up and I’m going to show how to wear it dressed up and down and in between. Thanks for commenting, Annette.
Cindy I love your collages of what you wore. So smart! The pantsuit was cute and looked comfy as well as chic! This was really fun to do together. I hope we get to do another conference together. Sad about SF. We didn’t know we were in the epicenter of all this virus stuff. The hotel and conference did a good job.
You look darling, xx Kim
Thanks, Kim…I’m off to read your post!
You looked so darn adorable at the conference. I LOVE that polka dot skirt. Especially on you. A jean jacket is always a good thing! I wear the same gap one all the time! We sure had fun!! And I stayed in the best hotel in SF. Thanks Howard and Chief for having me!
It was so nice having you here, Cindy!
