Let’s face it…literally! We all lose color pigment in our lips when we age…and often our eyebrows thin or fade (as in going gray or white). These two make-up items can help you look younger after 50: lipstick and eyebrow pencil.
Cindy Hattersley and Sandra Sallin asked me to join them regarding their favorite lipsticks (these beautiful over 50 girls really know their stuff). So, please check out their links at the end of the post!
As I have said before, I like a speedy make-up routine…like five minutes!
IT Damsel lipstick, balm, gloss and stain, all in one! This Damsel shade is my current favorite for every day. It has the hydration of a balm, the lasting effect of a stain and the color of a lipstick or gloss. I think the fact that it is a stain, it doesn’t run into my vertical lip lines.
TWO: Perfect Eyebrow Pencil
Where are my eyebrows? I found them again with Bobbie Brown Perfectly Defined Eyebrow Pencil.
Pricey, but oh man, I’m hooked! This automatic brow pencil has a slant tip for precise definition. It’s waterproof and sweat-resistant. You never have to sharpen it…a nice time saver.
Bolder Lipstick with Lip Pigment
When I want a bolder lip, I use Nars Powermat Lip Pigment. This sort of acts like a lipliner all over your lip (no need for a liner — another time saver). It has a bit of a tip for precision application, feels weightless and dries quickly. It’s the longest lasting one I have used. Since it’s a matte finish, I like to add a lip balm on top. Fresh Sugar Lip Treatment has an SPF 15. It moisturizes and softens the stain look.
