Comfortable Chic Airport Outfits For Women Over 50
Here is an updated post on comfortable yet chic travel outfits for women over 50. With our grandchildren across the country and my husband, Howard retired, we’ve been doing quite a bit of travel.
It’s good to have versatile clothes for the airplane that work at your destination. Especially for now: Fall and Winter. Soft layers are nice as it can get cold in the airplane. And not only are they good on an airplane, they are fun to wear when taking grandchildren to the park.
Travel Outfits For Women Over 50
Darker colors like black, navy, chocolate or green for travel can be your friend! So are no zipper pants and washable tee shirts and tops. These are petite friendly.
Spanx Air Essentials
Have you felt how soft the Air Essentials line is?
I’m giving my daughter this shawl collar half zip pullover and straight leg pants as I got the regular length and not petite pants (so too long for me). She deserves it as she and her husband bring their two small children and their dog when they come to visit us from California!
I have this navy Air Essentials half zip pullover that I wear with Spanx navy ponte flare pants in petite medium (that can be dressed up later with a blazer or cardigan).
I’m wearing this with my trusty Sambas. Recently for my carry-on, I’ve been using the small Away suitcase with a laptop outside compartment. Being able to wheel it is sometimes easier than carrying a heavy tote through a huge airport. Quince has a more affordable one here.
Cashmere Cardigan, Black Spanks Elasticized Waist Pants And Black Sneakers
The oversized Mongolian cashmere boyfriend sweater from Quince is very nice. Lots of colors and it feels like a hug.
I’m wearing it with an old black turtleneck, flattering kick flared Spanks pants and On Cloud sneakers. They are lightweight and they can slip on and off.
The crossbody Italian leather purse is a favorite of mine. The Away checked suitcase has seen years of use and still looks good! I clean it with a Magic Erase sponge.

Love the Eileen Fisher gauze shirt – so versatile for travel. Light enough for the airport, but also just enough to keep the plane air conditioning from hitting you directly during the flight.
