My last post showed how we updated Kim’s living room and now here’s her traditional dining room refresh.
Dining Room Before
They had more things in here than usual as they had water damage in another room. But still, you can see how things were dated and her table was a little rickety. Kim agreed right off the bat to wood flooring and new curtains.
Dining Room After
We kept the existing brass and silver chandelier. White wainscoting was installed and above the chair rail, we painted the room Benjamin Moore Silver Song. The large French paneled mirror is from Wisteria. Removing the china hutch gave us more room for a big table (she has lots of family members and friends).
We recovered Kim’s existing chairs
in a Robert Allen stripe that we had nano-texed for stain protection.
Remember this corner before?
We now have a handy bar cart
with good looking wood floors.
One more before photo where you can see how…
New linen curtains, Lee Industries host chairs (in Perennials Indigo fabrics) and a Restoration Hardware trestle table
provide a Traditional Dining Room Refresh…all in time for the holidays.
Kim asked for a paint color for the walls in her kitchen, too. But of course, I had a bit more of a suggestion…up soon her mini kitchen refresh.
I’m having the best time in India…and will write a post about all I am learning. For example, did you know the common Hindu greeting here(and big at the end of yoga class in the U.S.), “Namaste” means “I bow my head to the God in you.” Such a beautiful acknowledgment of the good in people.
Namaste.
If you haven’t already, I would love for you to subscribe to my posts by email.

Hi Mary Ann,
Looks like this is re-posted from a couple of years ago. Darn! I have been looking for a paneled mirror similar to the one from Wisteria shown in the photo. Unfortunately Wisteria is going out of business. Do you other sources for a similar mirror?
Thank you,
Christine
I loved that mirror too…used it twice and it was a good price. If I find a similar one…I will let you know.
You are my new design mentor. I’m seeing & learning with every post! Namaste.
THANKS, JULIE. NAMASTE!
Boy that is quite the transformation! So fresh…..I love that you always bring in some blue! I ahve used that color before…it’s beautiful!
Love it! It reminds my of my dining room redo you helped us with and I still love! Can’t wait to see the kitchen update too! Namaste beautiful goddess!
I love your dining room, Jackie.
Love the fresh fabric on the dining chairs!! Great job.
Beautiful room refresh. And I appreciate how you re-used some of her existing furniture. Happy Holidays to you and your family.
The wainscoting is so classy. So was the blue wallpaper at the time, but that is probably the detail that is the most dated in the before shot. And the window treatments. How nice and fresh to see those colorful trees outside.
Great work!
lovely transformation as always Mary Ann. Your trip to India looks amazing! you and howard look like newlyweds…so happy. safe travels!
