For the last several days, the heavy smoke and ash smell in our air has been a constant reminder of the devasting fires in the North Bay. For now, the wind shifted and we have cleaner air here in San Francisco. But thousands have been evacuated and have lost their homes. So many sad stories of survival and death.
Here are happier thoughts on Autumn decorating (in case you missed the guest post that I did for Hello Lovely, along with some new things added)…
And this is a great time of year to start enjoying candlelight indoors.
The battery operated candles in the tall hurricanes are fairly realistic (especially since they are up high) and turn on at dusk every night. I light the others when we have company.
Thanks for visiting.
Everything here is lovely and puts me in an autumnal mood (quite a feat for someone in Miami!). However, that little video of the candles in front of the mirrors stunned me! That’s one of the prettiest things I’ve ever seen. So simple and elegant yet so hypnotic! Thanks for sharing.
It’s all so pretty, but I love the pinky orange. There’s something so special about it, and with the little bit of autumn we get here in Houston it isn’t too “hot”, like the strong yellows and oranges can be. Reminds me of sunset – just a little bit cooler and such relief after our very long summers.
I love those colors, too, Rachael.
I love all the wonderful colors of fall, when days get shorter and nights cool off. Love all these beautiful fall decore ideas, especially how you brought in shades of pink to your table. Aren’t battery operated candles the best? Love it all!

Love all the pinky oranges too! Thank you for some much needed inspiration to get me going; )))

Did you change your blog name, Kelley?
I think It’s OVER……..THE BIG FIRE!
THANK GOODNESS………..on to TABLESCAPES!
I have those candles…….never remember to turn them ON!
I see you went to SANTA CLARA university?
Did you know a Linda Marcheschi?
It is such a SMALL world…….and I get a BIG KICK OUT OF IT!!!!!

Yes, Linda’s name is very familiar!
Prayers for all affected by the wildfires. So sad!
Really sad, Ron. Lots to rebuild.
We also get wildfires, but in the summer when it’s hot and dry. But they are tiny compared with the ones in California. It’s time we take better care of our planet.
Your pinky orange arrangements are what really catch my eye, although they are all beautiful.
Thanks so much. You can still smell smoke…all those poor people!
Great inspiration and so happy that the fires are starting to be under control.
Beautiful tabletops! We are all thinking of everyone there in northern CA. So many natural disasters. Very tragic.
Oh, it all looks so good! Love those automated hurricanes. Love your combinations of colors. All look so welcoming and chase the blues about the fires away for a little while. I kinda want to go into my house and smack things around. Need to freshen up my act after seeing this post. An inspiration for shopping at the grocery store.
Sandra, It’s feeling really good that the firefighters are getting a handle on this …and we may have some rain!
MY EVACUEE’s are BACK HOME!!!!!!!!
That is good news.
