The Brilliance Of Rechargeable Mood Lighting And More

You can create a certain atmosphere or feeling with rechargeable mood lighting. It is often soft lighting that is used in addition to task and convenience lighting. Mood lighting can help to improve mood and provide relaxation. Let me show you what we have done at our house.

And there’s more as it’s Five Fave time with Annie and Cindy!

1. Attractive Rechargeable Table Lights On The Patio

The minimalist table lamps from Amazon are a good price (they have some amazing deals) They are charged via a USB cable and come in lots of colors. When fully charged the battery life seems to last a while. There is free shipping with Amazon Prime.

My sister sent us the cute raffia shades from Serena and Lily. They come in wicker and in different colors, too. You simply place them over the cordless lamps.

Tip To Keep Your Outdoor Table Clean: We keep an old tablecloth on the table everyday and remove it to set the table for dinner.

And here it is set for dinner for four.

2. Outdoor Lanterns On The Porch With Rechargeable Batteries

These battery-powered lanterns from Target are pretty during the day and also make a nice night light for outdoor use. We put in EBL rechargeable batteries.

We love the modern Adirondack rocking chairs (on sale right now). The indigo pillows are not for the outdoor so I don’t leave them out all the time. The hydrangeas are lovely from Home Depot.

3. Rechargeable Light Bulb Instead Of Hardwiring A Sconce

Want to highlight something but not incur the cost of hardwiring? You might consider this reasonably priced wicker sconce from Amazon and put a rechargeable bulb in it.

We cut the power cord but saved it in case we want to plugin or hardwire the sconce later. The light has good customer reviews.

A rechargeable light bulb (that comes in a package of two with a small remote control) was screwed in. It has various options with lighting modes such as cool, medium and warm. The bulb also has dimmable brightness levels, but I would warn that even the brightest level is more accent lighting and not that bright.

4. Splurge Gifts For Mom

Zuvi Halo Fresh & Clean Technology hair dryer is on sale now…which is good since it’s pricey. But my hair has been less course since using it. Use Discount Code: MaryAnn for an extra 5% off!

Branche Premium Extra Virgin Olive Oil is for the person who loves the finer things in life, like extraordinary olive oil. We were recently gifted a set and shared it with friends (who’ve had olive oil in many places around the world, like us) and everyone commented on the delicious flavors.

It comes in a beautiful package of two oils: 1. Bold And herbaceous 2. Delicate and buttery

“During November, we harvest our olives in Spain. Olives are processed in small batches, and our oil is preserved in stainless steel nitrogen-cooled tanks at our farm, allowing for 14/15 months of pristine quality after harvest.”

5. Strawberry Season: A Simple Tip For Whipping Cream

Over 20 years ago, I took a dessert cooking class at Le Cordon Bleu in Paris. A clever thing that the chef taught us was to put plastic wrap between the bowl and mixer to stop the splatters.

whipping cream tip

It really works and making fresh whipped cream is so easy with the KitchenAid Mixer.

Tip: Place your bowl and whisk in the fridge to chill for about 10 minutes so all ingredients and tools are cold and ready at the outset. There are only three ingredients.

So, if you have the mixer, there’s no excuse not to make fresh whipped cream (other than the calories 🙂

  1. Don’t know if still available but where did you order the olive oil in the ceramic stripe container. I should have bought it when you first showed it a long time ago. Thanks

    Hello Mary Ann,
I’ve been wondering about those lights. I really want to get a few Pooky Lights from the UK, which is now available in the US but the cost is a bit steep. I considered these lights as an alternative. I think what I might do is just fins a small lamp that I like a cut off the cord as you did and use the rechargeable bulbs.

    Your outdoor table looks beautiful.
Love the whipping cream tip! I love whipping cream, but as you say, not the calories.
    Have a wonderful week,

Mary Ann—I love how the lamp shades give it such. Beachy vibe… perfect for your home! Your table with view of the pool is spectacular! Xx

  4. Love that pretty tablecloth from Pottery Barn and those serena and lily shades what a great gift from Teresa! She knows her sister well!

  5. I got a pair of the rechargeable lamps but the charge only lasted about 6 hours. How long does yours last?

    1. I’ve used them for two or three dinners so far (about 2 hours each). You have to really fully charge them.

  6. That’s a great idea about the splatter, MA. And I’m glad I’m not the only one that creates chaos with the mixer. Leave it to the French! I just got those battery operated lamps from Amazon. In green. And I ordered the shades from your link … great idea. Can’t wait for them to get here. And for our weather to cooperate with outdoor dining! xo

Thanks, Juliet. Hope you enjoy them!
