Hello! I’m excited to be joining a group of stylish ladies that Cindy organized to provide inspiration for your Thanksgiving table and menu! I’m illustrating how I layer my table with vibrant fall colors of rust, yellow and pink, and texture with wicker placemats and glasses.
And I have a delicious recipe for you for an Autumn salad that also has texture and color! It includes arugula, apples, crispy prosciutto, toasted pecans, and pumpkin seeds.
Please check out my friends’ Fall ideas with their links at the end of the post.
Fall Leaves As A Secret Weapon
My inspiration came from colorful Fall leaves! The first thing I did was scatter them down the center of the table.
Round Rattan Placemats
These rattan placemats are a great way to start layering your table…all year round! If you are new here, we live in a 100-year-old high-rise apartment in San Francisco.
Adding White Plates, Rust Linen Napkins and Our Favorite Glasses
I didn’t buy anything new. I just like to mix up the combination each time I set the table.
Pink and Rust Flowers
These vibrant colored flowers were placed in a wicker pitcher for the centerpiece.
We love the cane glasses for every day as they are easy to grip and you don’t need a coaster for condensation.
Votive Candles
It’s great to have these little votive candles handy…even for an everyday dinner.
And that’s how I set our table with vibrant fall colors!

And now for a proven salad recipe…
Autumn Arugula Salad With Apple and Crispy Proscuitto
My family loves this Autumn salad from Half Baked Harvest so much, they asked for the recipe and I plan on making it again for Thanksgiving!
It includes Honeycrisp apples, arugula, pomegranate seeds, and feta cheese…
With baked prosciutto, pumpkin seeds, and pecans…
Let me know how you like the recipe!
Now for some great inspiration from my friends…

The blend of pink, rust, and autumn green is so lovely. The can vase and glasses are a perfect California touch.

Hi Mary Ann,
You did it again, I really think everything looks so pretty, a relaxed and cozy feel, so
warm and inviting.
The salad look so good, I probably will try that recipe. Speaking of recipes. Today I baked
the Citrus Poppy Olive Oil Loaf by Athena Calderone. I served it this evening after our dinner.
I love, love, love it, and so did my hubby Bear. I nailed it on a first time try. I have been baking since
I was a youngster and sometimes you have to bake something at least twice before you get it right.
I used Grand Grand Marnier instead of the Vin Santo, and I used Fage 2% yogurt instead of the buttermilk.
The grocery store did not have buttermilk. Thank you so much for sharing this yummy loaf.

Hi Mary Ann,
Your table is so pretty, I love the color combination. The salad sounds delicious. It’s great to mix fruit, cheese and nuts with greens. Adding the prosciutto takes it up a notch for sure!
I like those glasses. I’d have to get rid of some to add those, hmm now I’m thinking about it!
Glad you’re home safe!

Your table is lovely! So much beautiful fall color.
Would love to take the beautiful salad to a relatives for Thanksgiving. I am wondering if I could do all of the prep work for both the salad and the dressing at home and then combine them when I am ready to serve? I have never baked procioutto and not sure how it would hold up. Thank you]
Mary Ann Pickett says
I bet you could…it’s like skinny bacon. Or you could get everything else ready and do the nuts and prosciutto (bake) at their house?
Carolina says
Thank you so much for responding. I will take your suggestion to the host to find out if there will be available oven space. Again, thank you and Happy Thanksgiving!

Such a beautiful fall table, Mary Ann. I’m in charge of table decor for our family thanksgiving dinner and I want to use leaves. Did you get these at the flower mart? We’re going up north, and I was hoping I could find some pretty trees that I could snip off a few little branches from.
I think that salad looks divine. So colorful and you could even add Fuyu persimmons for a splash of orange! They’re so pretty with the star pattern when sliced.
Mary Ann Pickett says
Gail, what a great idea about the persimmons! Yes, I got the leaves at the flower mart but I’ve seen them all over the east bay! I usually clip them when I am over there.
Annie Diamond says
Mary Ann, your table is so lovely! The colors of the flowers and the salad complement each other beautifully. I love the linen napkins that are the color of the pomegranate seeds, the apples, and some of the flowers! It’s like a still-life painting! I love all the texture too!
