The last six days were spent in Central and Northern Florida seeing family and friends and attending our son’s graduation from college. Lots of happy occasions!
But now I’m halfway into my journey home to San Francisco and am reminded about how big this beautiful country of ours is.
And that fact also makes me a little sad…but determined to hold tight to my relationships wherever they may be (including my friends moving to Texas… eyes watering).
While in Orlando, I spent one night at Netta’s beautiful home.
I arrived early in the morning after dropping my husband off at the airport. Isn’t this cool how she added a little greenery from her garden? She reminded me that I gave her the pitcher.
I love how Netta simply and elegantly displays precious items like her oyster plates and bone handled utensils.
Their son is away in college and I stayed in his comfortable room.
While I was there, Netta took me out for lake cruise in her new Duffy electric boat.
With just the two of us, it was nice to have some quiet time to catch up. These electric boats are also really fun for socializing/small parties as I captured in this post.
We had a delicious shrimp salad lunch…
And enjoyed the views of the pretty homes on the lake.
If you live in Central Florida and are interested in owning a charming Duffy electric boat (way more stylish than a pontoon boat), contact Netta at [email protected].Tell her I sent you!
In Tampa, Joy, Dorothy and I relaxed on Joy’s dock watching the sun set. Heavenly!
And speaking of the South…buy Kristy’s book HERE. I loved it! It would be great for a book club. I really want to start/join a book club in SF.
Also, they are offering a $1,000 Shop Design Chic Shopping Spree to one lucky winner. To enter: Send proof of purchase of Dear Carolina (photos are fine!) to readdearcarolina@gmail. Every book purchased is an extra entry!
Congrats to Thomas H. Pickett! He fills my heart with pride and laughter…and I’m glad he is coming back to California (even if it is Southern California).
Call a friend today and tell her/him you love them no matter how far away they live. Thanks for visiting!!!
