My Stay In A Gorgeous Rustic Style Mountain Home

Cindy Hattersley and I recently visited her client’s beautiful, new home in Lake Tahoe.  Cindy’s “rough luxe” touches were every where to be found.  So talented!  Her artist friend, and my new wonderful friend, Pat Huber joined us (she took the photo of us below).

I’m sure this home will be in a magazine one day soon, so I don’t want to give it all way with wide angled shots.  But, it’s fun to show you some close-ups.
Barbie, the homeowner, is a wonderful entertainer and floral designer.  She made us a delicious dinner by the the fireside.  Great wooden chargers from Cost Plus!  I want these napkins.

Complete with a fresh meringue and vanilla ice cream dessert…drizzled with Grand Marnier.

And a breakfast buffet in the morning with home-made banana muffins baked in these Simply Baked cups.

That night, we watched “Downton Abbey” on this sofa.

Pretty stairwell…

Cindy designed the cabinet style.  Love the triangle design…or is it an X design…all in the eye of the beholder, I guess.

The master bedroom has beautiful monogramed linens (another “Cindy” touch).

Noir chest and large Pottery Barn lamp.  Pretty styling by Barbie.

Cosy wool braided rug…

Cute grandchildren’s bunk room…

Barbie’s stash of children’s books to read to her grandchildren.

Reclaimed wood siding… Cost Plus table below with fun flea market finds…a true mix of high and low, rough and very luxurious.

Thanks so much, Barbie for a wonderful stay in your gorgeous mountain home!
