We are back at Kathryn’s house in Newport Beach, California
for the rest of the tour.
If you missed it, you can visit the living, dining and powder rooms HERE.
I am crazy about this wood topped island and
the flood of light from the skylighted ceiling. Isn’t it awesome?
The light fixtures are from Ann-Morris Antiques, Inc. in New York.
The veined Walker Zanger marble is gorgeous.
Kathryn’s beautiful family is displayed on the gallery wall and you can catch a
glimpse of the pretty powder room. I brought those white tulips for Kathryn but that was
the extent of our “staging.” Her home is always this lovely.
Adjacent to the kitchen is the family room decorated in chocolate and red.
Here is an alcoved breakfast area. Charming Niermann Weeks light fixture and again
…lots of natural light. The table and chairs are from Butera Home.
Such a serene master bedroom in neutrals and chocolate.
The fabric on the bed is from Old World Weavers and Fortuny with trim from Kravet/LeeJofa.
Behind the house is a separate garage with two guest rooms above it. One of Kathryn’s grandchildren asked “Ma, who lives in THAT house?” Love the balcony and the flagstone path.
This hot tub surrounded by stone is a popular spot on chilly evenings.
Thanks, Kathryn, for the tour of your beautiful home.
Life is good
at the beach.
Hi! Any way to find out the color name/ brand for the kitchen cabinets?? Thanks!!
They were custom made by my contractor/carpenter, Adrian Schroeder.
Those lighting really looks great in your kitchen it kind of makes the room more industrial. Thanks.

Thanks so much for the house tour. What a superb house!!! Light is so underestimated in so many ways and I really love to see it featured in interior design. I would gladly photograph that house any day! Next on my wish list…a skylight 😉 xCathy
The composition is marvelous. I love that the marble was left off the island countertop. There, the lighting would have been too harsh in the sunlight. The right material in the right place. Lovely and human scale. Bravo.
Man…all of your friends have gorgeous homes!!! You could just do post everyday and wow us with these beautiful images!!!
all the natural light is refreshing!
This is truly a stunning home. I loved the virtual tour. Thanks for your comment on my blog. I added yo as the source on the post and on pinterest, since the original source was google.
Thanks for pointing that out…
ciao

So beautiful and comfortable. I love the fabrics, toile especially. Just a little bit goes a long way to adding personality to an interior. What a great breakfast nook and I love the back balcony. Thanks for the tour!
Kathryn's home is just gorgeous in every way and so warm. I adore the interior and the exterior equally as much. I love her Bevolo outdoor light fixtures…made in America.

Always love marble! My favorite surface of all time. Just lovely! Her home is so warm and inviting. Just the way I like it!
So pretty with all the light shining in! Great wood island top and the marble gorgeous.
Be still my beating heart! I knew when I saw Kathyrn's living room and powder room, that the rest of her home would be nothing short of magical….and it did not disappoint. Thank you Kathryn, for letting us peak into your beautiful home and thank you MaryAnn for another inspiring post. I always know that when I see "classic . casual . home" in my inbox that I'm in for a truly special treat and a great start to my day.
P.S. Do you suppose Debbie and Claire would share the color they used on Kathryn's walls? It's the perfect neutral for any room.
Her home is beautiful! Love the wood top island too. Can i move in?
I adore these miniature gems. They are so elegant yet so cozy and intimate!
My dream home for sure!
The light in here is really spectacular. It would be difficult (impossible?) to feel anything but cheerful in this house. Thank you both for sharing with us!
What exquisite taste! The marble is gorgeous and I loved the pop of the toile peeking out from her powder room. Love the tours!
How stunning! I especially love her color choices. Perfect pops of red. I'm curious about the wood countertop and how she keeps it. Looks so pristine.
What a great home. Did Kathryn decorate herself or did she have help. I love her choices on fabrics and color schemes. Red and browns look so inviting and she keeps things fresh. It definitely reflects the casual lifestyle of Southern California, a style I'm partial to.

Beautiful Home! Enjoyed the tour!
Such a beautiful home, inside and out! Thanks for sharing!
What a gorgeous tour to start my day…love the way the light shines in all the windows – just as it should be at the beach, and the ceiling in the breakfast room fabulous!!
Gorgeous! Love that wine fridge snuck into that island too. Have you helped some of your friends with the interiors of their homes? They are just beautiful. I love the striped Lee Jofa fabric on the couch too.
Your friends have the most fabulous homes. Just keep showing us more. I love these tours.
I would move in and be comfortable just the way it is, it's beautiful and family friendly.
