Here is some great lighting to update every room in your home. When we moved into our home in Florida over a year ago, we wanted to refresh each room with stylish but classic lighting. We still have some bathrooms to refurbish but let me show you the updated lighting in all the rooms so far.
New lighting can be one of the easiest ways to update and upgrade your home. You might want to pin these ideas to Pinterest. There are some affiliate links for your convenience at no extra charge to you.
The days are getting shorter and the right lighting with dimmers can set a cozy mood at home.

Foyer Ceiling Light
The leaves on this Hampton Small Chandelier light fixture mimic the wall paper.

Kitchen Pendant Lights
The brass feels updated with the black on these kitchen pendants over the kitchen island.

Living Room
The basket drum shade light is dimmable for ambient lighting.

Dining Room
To add some texture over the dining room table to the Camille crystal and brass chandelier, we added wicker shades from Ballard. This might be an easy fixture update for you to do to your chandelier.

The Pottery Barn accent table lamp provides a nice ambiance at night.
Hall Flush Mount Fixture
This flush mount globe pendant is inexpensive and looks a lot better than the builder’s grade “boob” light that was here before.

Laundry Room
We love the dark blue and brass fixture with the diffuser by Mark. D. Sikes in our laundry room. It uses two light bulbs for extra lighting.

Powder Room
The small drop globe sconce reminds me of a pretty earring (so hard to get a good photo with no natural lighting)

Stairwell Wall Sconces
These elongated sconces by Visual Comfort are a nice juxtaposition with the antique mirror.

Primary Bedroom
We bought these crystal column lamps with drum shades from WS Home years ago and they are classic. These are similar.

Each one seems perfect for the space. They are like jewelry added to a great outfit.
Hi Mary Ann. I love these fixtures! You are so talented. I just purchased a beach house and I love the dark stain you used on your flooring. Can you share what color the stain is? Also – can you share the white paint color you used on the walls and the more cream colored trim. It looks fantastic.
Thank you!!
Anne 🙂
Thanks, Anne. The floors were already stained when we moved in. The walls are BM Simple White and the trim is BM China White.
So many great options here! I especially like the living room fixture. It adds a coastal vibe without being too “coastal”
You always have the best light fixtures in every home you’ve share over the years. You have a great eye for knowing what will work in every area. Love all of them.
I just adore your foyer. It makes quite an entrance!
Thanks, Joanna!!
Hey Mary! Can you tell us about the rug in your laundry room? Thanks! Tammy
Yes. It’s washable and be love it: https://rstyle.me/+cVmDa6jW9-dSHIjXFEz2agGet the sturdy rug pad!
This is great!! We just bought a new-to-us home (built in the ’60’s) and it is absolutely filled with so. many. boob. lights. It is almost overwhelming! I can’t wait to get those replaced. Along with the popcorn ceiling they are perched on!
Ha! I know what you mean!
