Do flowers bring you as much joy as they do to me? With the recent death of my mother, I have received some gorgeous flower arrangements from friends and family that make me feel special. These flowers include fragrant gardenias, colorful tulips, exotic mixed blooms, and elegant orchids.
Gorgeous Flower Arrangements
Let me give you a little tour of these striking arrangements that I am lucky enough to have in my home.
Lovely Gardenias
These came in a beautiful box from my friend, Debbie. She ordered them from High Camp and they came in a beautiful box. There were some loose blooms in the bottom of the box that they recommended putting in a bowl…which is what I did and I have the lovely scent here in my office as well as in the living room.
Hand Delivered White Arrangement With Anemones
My niece, Ana, selected this arrangement and dropped it off at our doorstep.
Colorful Tulips
This was a cheerful surprise from our Florida family.
Assorted Exotic Blooms
The flowers that Laura sent from Farm Girl Flowers were enough to make two arrangements.
White Flowers With Green Orchids
JoAnn and Larry sent this long-lasting arrangement. I love the orchids and how they are placed so that you can see them from 360 degrees. Smells lovely, too!
Stately Orchid Plant
My sweet girlfriends in Florida sent this gorgeous white orchid plant arrangement. So pretty with the several blooms.
You can imagine how special these gorgeous flower arrangements make me feel! And I appreciate all of you who have sent heartfelt messages and kind comments. And thank you Mark and Mercedes for the self-care box!
We all have grief in our lives at some point…just a part of living. Thank you all for making this process a little easier. God bless you!

All gorgeous flowers…you must feel very special. I love the tulip and orchid arrangement!! My dad’s service over 25 years ago had a lot of Stargazer lilies, some of which I took home. To this day I don’t like the very fragrant smell because they remind me of a sad time. Which is too bad because they are beautiful.

Dear Mary Ann,
The flowers are all exquisite. Your home must have the most wonderful scent. I am so sorry to hear about your mother. It is something that we will all have to face. So I try to celebrate my parents with every opportunity. And I know that you did that often. I will be thinking of you with the funeral. Another chance for celebration. Sending you much love, Gabrielle xxx

With so many flowers from different places shows how well you have bloomed where you have been planted. Rosemary may be the flower of remembrance, but for me it is always gardenias. Just sit and take in the beauty and the fragrance and know that you are loved. And a big hip, hip, hooray for your first shot!!! You are on your way to hallelujah (as one of my friends calls the joy of being able to be vaccinated!).
Mary Ann Pickett says
Yes…it was a relief to get the first shot. Some people aren’t for getting it…but I don’t judge them.

Flowers are so healing, reminding us Of the beauty in our
world. You said you talk to your mom in your head now ,
I think you talk to her in your heart where she will always
be .
I will be thinking of you Saturday when you celebrate
your mothers life , praying for you and your family.
Mary Ann Pickett says
Oh thank you, Alexis…this brings tears to my eyes.

My sister and I still call each other and say “I know you don’t care about this, but Mama would have wanted to know.” Hope you have someone special you can share with.

As for these beautiful arrangements, each one os more beautiful than the next! I love the tulips and the white one.
Mary Ann Pickett says
Thank you, Elizabeth! We can use your prayers. The funeral is Saturday…I know Mom would want us to be happy and not sad.
Cathy says
Beautiful flowers. You are well loved by friends and family. I wanted to share with you what a friend shared with me after my Mother died. For about a year you will go pick up the phone to call your Mother to tell her something out of habit. At first when you realize what you have done it’s heartbreaking. After a while it does get easier. The first Mother’s Day is also hard. I couldn’t even let my children celebrate me the first year. Take care and it does get easier knowing she is not in pain and with ones that left before her.
Mary Ann Pickett says
It’s already happened a few times to me, Cathy. I used to always call Mom from the car…even quick trips. Now I talk to her in my head.
