What a week! Take a deep breath and come enjoy fresh decor ideas, gorgeous costumes, and more. Annie, Cindy, and I look forward to sharing our five favorite things with you each week. It is an escape for us too!
1. Tailored Window Treatments and Pretty Wallpaper
This is Juliet’s Blue And White Bathroom. It all started with her love of the Schumacher Pyne Hollyhock in Indigo.
Monica Vargas Photography
I acted as a design sounding board. We thought a simple roman white linen shade with a Greek key would be best with the wallpaper taking the show.
You will like Juliet’s blog… It is California casual meets English countryside!
2. Durable And Stylish Comfortable Rug
We bought this West Elm rug for our son, Thomas when we stayed with him for Christmas at his bachelor pad. It’s 20% off right now. I put it on Instagram and a couple of people wanted to know more about it. It’s actually indoor/outdoor but soft on your bare feet. It comes in lots of colors. This is the iron color.
Here you can see the iron shade has some blue undertones but they have others that are much more vibrant blue. This would be good to freshen up a family room.
3. Heidi Michelle Art
I met darling Heidi at the birthday party Cindy H. for Elizabeth (AKA The Vintage Contessa) and have been following her on Instagram. She is an artist in Northern California. The beautiful and affordable tulip painting caught my eye! It is on canvas board so I attached velcro tabs to the back and put it in a floating frame from Blicks.
4. Bridgerton Costumes
I mentioned watching Bridgerton on Netflix before. I binged watched it without Howard! Be prepared for some explicit scenes. The costumes and sets are amazing.
Watch this for more about the costumes…
5. Super Soft J. Crew Turtleneck
I love this J. Crew turtleneck (comes in other colors). Very soft…not itchy at all. 40% off right now. My daughter took this of me before going into Trader Joe’s. We are still on lockdown…so this is a highlight. I’m wearing it with Banana Republic leggings, a crossbody purse, and my favorite new booties that Howard gave me for Christmas. The Madewell booties are flat and with a bit more rounded toe than my other ones. Very comfortable.
Cindy H. is wearing the soft turtleneck in lavender here.
That’s my five faves: Fresh Decor Ideas, Gorgeous Costumes, and More.
Weight Watchers Update
Weight Watchers Update Week One! I think this is the hardest week of adjusting, but I can honestly say that I have not been hungry. With my height/frame, if I lose 1 to .5 lbs a week, I will be happy. This will take some time. Thanks to those of you who signed up with me as we both get a free month. It’s not too late. Please leave any of your WW suggestions in the comments!
Do you know about Dave’s Killer Thin Sliced bread? It’s only two points and tasty. We get it at our local Safeway but I have seen it at Target too. For breakfast, I have it with a hard or soft boiled egg with salt and pepper (or Slap Ya Mama Cajun Seasoning) and a spritz of fresh lemon juice (which I discovered from avocado toast). You almost don’t miss the butter 🙂
Also, thank you to those of you who filled out this quick questionnaire for What You Would Like To See More Of In 2021. I will have the results next week and announce the winner of the one-hour free virtual consultation. You can still enter!
Let’s run on over to visit our friends:
So many fabulous features here! Juliets darling bathroom is perfection and Heidi is SO talented! He tulip painting looks great on your mantle. I’ve not watched Bridgerton but the costumes look amazing! Dave’s Killer bread is so good and I’d forgotten they have the thin sliced version. I’ve been buying Ezekiel sesame bread which is delicious but on the dry side.
Hi Mary Ann
Which style of floating frame did you use from Dick Blick, I noticed there are a number of choices?
Your blogs are always an inspiration to me- thank you!
Pat
It’s the only one that is black and gold.
Thanks, Mary Ann! I see it now.
Hi Mary Ann,
I thought Bridgerton, while a little racy, was such a sweet love story. It’s always fun to read you, 3 talented women, on Sunday.Great inspiration.
xo,
Karen
Mary Ann!
Every time I read a post of yours it reminds me of so many things that I need to do! Like WW, but also Dave’s Killer thin sliced bread. I think I had this at your house and started buying it and then got out of the habit…It’s January, I need to renew my healthy habits.
I love the rug you got for Tommy. His apartment is so sophisticated. And your new painting! I love it and how you are constantly refreshing your mantel with new looks. Love those green tapers and the branches with leaves. I can’t believe they are faux.
xo
HEIDI’S PAINTING LOOKS FABULOUS ON YOUR MANTLE! WHAT A PUNCH OF HAPPY!! I LOVE DAVE’S BREAD TOO THOUGH I AM AVOIDING CARBS AT THE MOMENT TO GET A GOOD START. LORD KNOWS I NEED IT. I AM SO GLAD YOU LIKE THAT J CREW TURTLNECK TOO. IT CERTAINLY LOOKS WAY CUTER ON YOU THAN ME! WHO ELSE LOOKS CUTE IN A MASK? I LOOK LIKE I MIGHT BE HOLDING UP THE STORE! I HAVEN’T BEEN ABLE TO GET INTO BRIDGERTON I NEED TO GET WITH IT!!
BRIDGERTON IS A WINNER FOR ME!I ADORED THE VIDEO YOU SNUCK IN HERE!

BUT I do like putting people together!
HAVE A BEAUTIFUL WEEK…….XXX
Hi Mary Ann,
I lost over 80 pounds on WW. I usually eat the same breakfast six days a week and have a special breakfast on Sunday. During the day I try to eat zero point foods (bag of tuna with fruit, Fage 0% yogurt, any fruit), I enjoy a glass of wine with salad, protein and a LOT of oven roasted vegetables. I’m not much for exercise, but my goal is 10k steps per day … and it’s still a goal. It took me a while to figure out what worked for me. It does work and I am Lifetime.
Bravo, Georgia!!! I like tun. Thanks for the tip. Howard made grilled ahi for a Salade Nicoise the other night…it was great.
I am a WW washout (user error, NO DOUBT!), but have found success with a calorie counting app. One of my constants is Light and Lively nonfat Greek yogurt , 80 calories, 12 grams protein. Not sure what that might be in WW points, but it’s my “something sweet” when I’m so inclined, and the protein helps immensely! The other thing I have to do is plan my aft. snack/evening meal calories early in the day, then factor in how much time on the treadmill I must do to stay in my lane (so to speak). I am 55 and 3.5 yrs into a very abrupt menopause thanks to an estrogen blocker. I am still wrapping my brain around this menopause stuff! No fun!
Thank you so much for your lovely blog. Your care and effort show through very clearly.
First of all … what a thrill to see our blue and white bathroom on Classic Casual Home … my first love in terms of lifestyle/decor blogs! Our little shade is so sweet … as are all the gorgeous shades you had made for Snowberry. Second of all … your son’s new rug is great, but … his coffee table! Wow! Is that a family pass-down or new purchase? I love it … and everything you’ve shown us of his bachelor pad set up amazing. Love the JCrew sweater … you look a lot more pulled together than I do when out and about. I might have to order this sweater, but I’ll go a size up for my new quarantine casual style!!! xo
Love Heidi’s art too … there’s just too much goodness in this post and I knew I’d overlook something. I want to get together with her to create pieces for a couple spots at our house. She’s so talented. xo
Yes! Elizabeth has connected us all!
LOVE MY JOB!
XXX
You are good at it!!
Thanks for letting me show your bathroom, Juliet!
Hi Cindy,
This is exciting! What an honor to have been included in your Five Favorite Things this week! I am so happy that the tulip painting found a new home with you! The frame looks great BTW.
I’m going to check out those turtle necks as soon as I finish typing this comment. I think I might be able to squeeze one (or more!) sweater into my closet. And it’s been so cold lately. Cheaper than using more propane by turning up the heater, right?!
Bridgerton didn’t do it for me but I agree the costumes were spectacular. I’m rewatching as many Merchant/Ivory films as I can right now. There’s always room for a little fantasy in my life, and watching a costume drama is one of my favorite ways to relax.
Thanks again for mentioning me here. I welcome any new visitors to my site or website. I hope you enjoy the rest of the weekend!
XO Heidi
MARY ANN, MARY ANN!!
Oh my gosh I’m so sorry MARY ANN. This is obviously your blog, not Cindy’s. What an embarrassing mistake and I apologize. I will crawl away now.
XO Heidi
Haha! That’s a compliment as far as I am concerned, Heidi!
Twenty years ago my employer generously sponsored onsite WW meetings for employees. I was able to lose 12 pounds which I have (mostly) been successful in keeping off. I’m sure the program has changed somewhat since then, but it was wonderful for me. I never felt hungry or cheated, and I loved being able to save up points for a little splurge on the weekend. I’m a person who loves her treats, and my go-to was a nightly half cup of fat-free, sugar-free instant chocolate fudge pudding topped with a tiny bit of light whipped cream (yes, from an aerosol container, but desperate times called for desperate measures). I still go back to WW methods when I need to drop 2 or 3 pounds. Dave’s Killer Bread is the greatest, and I love his story. Good luck!
Good for you Sarah. I can normally maintain my weight but last year had me gorging a bit. 🙂 I wish I liked pudding. I like things with a bite. Howard had some dark chocolate after dinner last night.
What’s the Dave’s story” I need to find out.
Oh, i just read the bag! 😉 He was in prison for several years, and was then welcomed back into the family bakery, where he developed his killer bread.❤
