Hello! For my five faves today with Annie and Cindy I’m featuring the lovely decor details in a home designed by Tom Sheerer, rugs we love that are on sale, my shirtdress on major sale, seared scallops with lemon risotto, and an entertaining book to read.
1. Lovely Decor Details: Home Designed By Tom Scheerer
I love the oversized Frederic Magazine by Schumacher. A recent online issue highlighted this beautiful Dallas estate (designers, Tom Scheerer and Alex Eskenasy, photographed by Francesco Lagnese).

You can read more about this stunning home here.
2. Our Rugs On Sale: Soft Enough To Crawl On
Hand-knotted Turkish Rug
I’m happy to say that I got Louisa to chase me on all fours all around the house. So I appreciated the soft rugs where we have them! Like this one in our bedroom. It’s 20 to 25% off depending on the size.

Performance Rug
We’ve been happy with this large performance rug from Pottery Barn. It’s 20% off right now.

Did you read the recent post on Affordable Luxury with Quince (where the cashmere throws are from)?
3. What To Wear
This Poplin shirt dress is 40% off (plus an extra 20% off) at Banana Republic Factory. This is a Petite Medium size. I wore the dress this week to dinner for our 38th wedding anniversary.

I replaced the self-tie with my own belt. The dress comes in black and a whiskey color that would be nice for Fall.

4. What To Cook
A few nights ago, Howard made Lemon Risotto with Pan-seared Scallops off the top of his head. This is a similar recipe here.

5. What To Read: The 100-Year-Old Man Who Climbed Out the Window and Disappeared by Jonas Jonasson
A funny old guy with a fondness for vodka goes on an unexpected adventure in this whimsical novel (with lots of historical twists and turns recounted during his eventful life) — perfect for fans of Forrest Gump and A Man Called Ove.

If you are new here, each Sunday I share my top five favorite things along with my friends, Cindy and Annie. It’s like our weekly “catch-up” phone call. If you would like to receive this series every week, please sign up HERE.
Let’s see what Annie and Cindy’s Five Faves are this week:
Happy anniversary! Babies are the best, and my floors were never so clean as when I had crawlers 😄
I love the slipcovered sofas in the room with the featured Pottery Barn rugs – are those special order? They are exactly what I’m looking for! And, the scallops look delicious!
Congratulations on your 38th anniversary! Howard is the best chef … I see why you keep him around. 😉 Love the white dress you wore to your celebratory dinner. Louisa’s modeling is going to have that cute rug flying off the shelves. She’s really getting around … so adorable. xo
Congrats on 38 years! The scallops with lemon risotto look to be delicious.
I wish Howard would come be our personal chef! I am on the hunt for a rug for our guest room so will check out your suggestions!!
