Don’t you think it’s important to have happy feet? Here are my recommended comfortable, stylish Spring Summer shoes to love for 2022. I am joining my Over 50 Style friends, Cindy, Annie and Jennifer with their recommendations, too. Their links are at the end of the post.
It could be my age but I don’t want to be thinking “my feet hurt.” Walking the hills of San Francisco with my dog, Chief is my major form of exercise. And when we go on vacation, a lot of walking is involved and many times on cobblestones.
Colored Canvas Sneakers
Love these tan sneakers from Madewell. They have cushy insoles. The color goes with everything. I will be packing these for our trip to Italy in May. My white jeans are new from Banana Republic.

White Leather Sneakers
These leather sneakers are also with comfortable insoles.

Vegan Leather Slide Sandals
These Birdies slide sandals are really comfortable, too…they mould to your feet. On sale now.

Low Booties
I’ve been wearing these low cut booties for a while. I always get compliments on them and the block heel is wearable.

Cool T-strap Sandals
I love these black T-strap sandals by Tory Burch for warm weather. They are a little dressier with the gold charm and come in white, red and gold too.

Check out these:

Let’s check out what my friends are recommending for Spring shoes!
So many fun shoes, I love sneakers and sandals. We are on the same wavelength because I have a summer sandal post on my calendar.
Love all these shoes, Mary Ann. And you look so stylish swanning about the City. You know what I always say, life’s too short for uncomfortable shoes (and sofas)! xo
Mary Ann,
I really like the recommendations and I could use some new comfortable shoes, especially since it’s nearly sandal weather.

Hi Mary Ann
I LOVE those Madewell sneaks…the color…everything! If I could wear them they would be in my bag in a hurry! As you know I have that darn bunion! You look darling in every single outfit! I have got to try those jeans! I love them!
Once upon a time, long, long ago a company named Capezio made those t-strap sandals. (and other styles as well). They were all the rage at a certain point in my life. Unfortunately the company has gone back to just making dancewear Wish they were still around, but looks like Tory has them covered. Thanks for the suggestion! Wish I could wear the other styles too, but I am still looking for variations for some of them.
I used to love Capezio sandals!
Mary Ann! You look darling in every outfit! You and Chief walk so much in hilly SF, making you an expert on stylish AND comfortable shoes. I feel like comfort is key to most people now! How does anyone wear a pointy toe heel with jeans? You know me….I’m always in flats! I love those slides from Birdies! A step up from my leather Birkenstocks!
You should get a pair on sale, Annie. Looks like they still have your size.
Great post, thank you!
I love the blue flowered dress you are wearing in the picture with the TB sandals, would you mind sharing info?
Thank you!
I love the pockets in that dress and it’s cool… I got it at Madewell last year. In a size small. I notice that they have a similar one in a different color this year.
I love your fashion posts! You have such awful finds! Are the Madewell boots the same ones you are wearing in the photo where you are at the salon? They have sort of a square toe? Thanks Mary Ann!
OMG, dictating typo!! I did not mean awful finds, I said AWESOME finds OMG đ
Ha!. I knew that’s what you meant, Kristen. Yes.Those are the same boots that I’m wearing. They hold up well too!
Thank you! đ
Great classic shoes for spring! I love the T strap sandal option. It prevents having to grip my ties which fatigues my feet. This was fun. Thanks for joining us!
I know about the toe clinging, Jennifer. Have you tried the Birdies slides…they stay on my foot without effort. Loved your post!
Iâd love an updated version of this post with shoe recommendations that are in stock or the brand names and styles of these listed with the links/photos so I can search for them on other sites. Thanks so much!
Good idea! I will. Check out Madewell for now.
Good idea…I will. In the meantime, check out Madewell!
i bought a few new pairs of slip on loafers (allegedly) for high point market and these were my favs: https://shop.nordstrom.com/s/dr-scholls-scout-slip-on-sneaker-women/4970787
thinking i may need to get some of these though đ love your fashion tips!!!!
The Frye slip ons are fabulous! The moment I saw them on your post, I was smitten. Beautiful shoes. You must have them!
Thanks! You sealed the deal, Cheryl.
Great post. I’m looking for some new summer shoes.
Karen
I love seeing real women showcase things they actually use and wear. I try to do the same on my own blog. I am a little weary of seeing “real women” who continually wear and share outfits on a daily basis that are about $1000.00-$3000.00 a day. Love your selections, off to check them out.
Ha Ha Mary Ann just read your shoe post I purchased the same booties at Nordstrom Rack awhile ago and I love them, they are very comfortable. Only issue is finding bootie socks in a similar color since you can see through the perforations! Also bought some similar heeled sandals at Banana Republic. I can’t do any heels over 2″ anymore unless it’s a very short walk to where ever I’m going. đ
Linda in San Diego
I don’t wear socks with the perforated booties, Linda since they breathe. I haven’t had any blisters either.
Thanks Mary Ann, I have narrow feet so I sort of have to wear socks with these booties. :o/
You both have the best taste and style! I love all these and Mary Ann I still wear my sandals I bought off your blog that you wore last summer to France. They are one of my favorites. This is super timely as I was just assessing the whole shoe closet and thinking I am sick of the winter shoes I have worn so much with all this rain. Here’s to sandals and light shoes!! xoxo
My feet have become the center of my universe đ©. That being said, I am blown away and so pleased by the comfort of my Cole Haan Grand Pro sneakers and also CH Zero Grand âtrainers,â kind of meshy on top. I bought them in black and get so many compliments! When I trek through France shortly, these will be my go-tos.
Great advice! I love my Cole Haan sneakers…but they are starting to get a little worn. Have a great trip!
Try trask! Great shoes!
I need to check Trask out!
I love the perforated boots. Just the thing for spring and fall. Your leather sneakers are really cute, too–the plain leather makes them a little classier than some models.
That said, every last pair you have chosen is adorable.
YOU LOOK ADORABLE IN ANYTHING YOU PUT ON!
I HEAR THROUGH THE GRAPEVINE YOU WILL BE IN MY TOWN TODAY!!!!!!!!
I ALSO HEAR MORE RAIN ALL WEEK????!!!!!!!
NO SANDALS THIS WEEK!
BUT I”M READY!!!!!!!
XX
Yep…the sandals will be staying in the closet for a while. I think I will take them to San Diego for Easter though!
You ladies both have great taste! I love your selections, especially since I need to be comfortable as well. (Any bunion friendly ones?…uhg). I have very similar sandals to the ones you are wearing and love them. Great post!
Shelley
I’m starting to get a bunion on my right foot đ and all these shoes work for me still.
I LOVE those Frye slip ons! How did I miss those? They might even work on my feet! You are the one that got me to test drive the low booties and boy am I happy I did. If I looked as cute as you, I might just buy the whole lot you suggested! Thanks for doing this with me!
I love all your sneakers!!! They would really refresh my closet.
