Christmas in San Francisco! I love this time of year. From real-life “Gingerbread Houses” to a decorated Union Square and a beautiful home store.
This is a good city for getting around on foot to see things! If you can handle the hills! That’s why you will always see me in comfortable shoes when out and about. But public transportation is good, too. I can take the cable car or bus to go shopping in Union Square.
Union Square – Christmas in San Francisco
Union Square feels safe with police personnel on many corners. Which is nice after the mass lootings that occurred a few weeks ago. It’s also clean and festively decorated…making for a fun shopping experience!

Home Store: Christmas in San Francisco
Emily Joubert, a store south of here in Woodside, has opened a store in San Francisco. I had a fun time shopping here. There are lots of interesting objects for the home including new and vintage items. You may want to pin this for your next trip to SF!

Merry Christmas, Lauren.
Chuckling at the decorated house with the kkeletons sitting outside the windowsill. He needs a Santa Hat!
I do not see anything sitting on a window sill…..where are you seeing this?
Merry Christmas Mary Ann… Do you remember when Kate, you and I made that gingerbread house at Good Housekeeping? It collapsed!
Wishing you the best this season.
HAHAHA….a first of many disasters for me with gingerbread houses. I miss you Jayne!
There are few places a pretty and festive as S.F at Christmas. Such a fun post!!
Mary Ann how lucky you are to be able to walk around the city! I’m sad that I haven’t had my holiday visit yet, guess that will have to wait til after Christmas, but it will be ok because the decorations will still be up. I always love all the store windows and the festive hotel lobbies. My youngest daughter is moving up the first of the new year, I’m sure I will be making many trips to see her!
Enjoy your Christmas with your family. I know it will be different for you this year, but being with your loved ones will help! Happy New Year, too!
XO Heidi
I hope I get to see you, Heidi when you visit your daughter!!

Good Morning Mary Ann,
I love everything that you shared. Pacific Heights and Union Square are true landmarks in San Francisco.
Chief is in charge of keeping Union Square safe from lootings.
Emily Joubert’s store looks wonderful, and having a store located in Woodside too. Woodside is such a pretty
community. I wish her total success in opening her second store.
Thanks, Katherine…sending lots of warm wishes!!!
