Cindy’s California Spanish estate is in the wine country of Paso Robles. The courtyards, barrel-tiled roofs, beams, and overhangs are in the traditional mission style.
Last Saturday, Howard and I were fortunate to be guests of Cindy and Steve Hattersley’s. They just moved in a couple of months ago and it already looks gorgeous. I call it an estate as it is on a large piece of property with views, lots of trees, a pool, and grape vines.
Cindy’s California Spanish home feels appropriate to the area in a state that was colonized by the Spanish. As a child in school, we all had to make a model of one of California’s missions…and Cindy’s house is like this early California style.

So that even though it’s large, it doesn’t feel over the top out-of-scale, or grandiose…but classy, tasteful, and welcoming (just like Cindy). Let me show you around.

Mary Ann,
Thanks for sharing this peek at Cindy’s beautiful new home! It’s so warm and inviting! Love the curated (not decorated) feel of each space. Interesting pieces collected over a time really make her new home a showstopper!
It was so fun to see where all her pieces landed in her new home!
Just like you, Cindy is beyond talented and such a beautiful person. All of her homes have been gorgeous, filled with the many treasures she has collected. Pieces that go so well with the style of each house and especially with their new California Spanish colonial home. Thank you for sharing this wonderful estate!

Such a beautiful home, fitting for the Paso area. She is lucky to live in such a wonderful area of CA! Love visiting Paso and doing some wine tasting.
I know. We really enjoyed the area.
Oh wow, MA, Cindy’s new home is amazing. Hard to believe she’s only been there a short time … the house is so beautifully put together. I’m drooling over the breakfast nook banquette. It looks like the chicest boutique hotel and resort. I can’t believe they’re already entertaining the neighbors. But of course! You and Howard must have been in heaven. Thanks for the tour!!! xo
I did feel like we were at a resort, Juliet!
Cindy and Steve’s home is spectacular and the courtyard too.
