Hello, my friend! I have some fun things to get you in the holiday spirit. Such as easy homemade dog treats (fun gifts for dog parents), my favorite gift to give (I already have it and love it), sublime vintage French finds, another goodie from Trader Joe’s, and an activity for the family to get you out of the house. So let’s go!
1. Faux Fur Throw From Pottery Barn
This faux fur throw is incredibly soft! I love it. I bought another for my mom (shhh!), who is hanging in there after serious health issues. This will keep her cozy and warm.
2. Elsie Green For Vintage French Finds
I’m honored to be featured on Elsie Green’s blog with my gift edit. Please check it out! Cool gifts.
You know I love my vintage French jugs on my mantel from Elsie Green. You can buy their wares online (since we can’t go to Europe right now~ it’s almost as good 🙂
Elsie Green has a beautiful way of styling things with simplicity. Love these classic Champagne coupes.
You may want to follow the Elsie Green Instagram feed!
3. Trader Joe’s Wreath
What a blessing during lockdown to have a socially distanced trip to Trader Joe’s. The wreath comes with little twinkle lights–pretty at night. I put it in my own pot.
4. Easy Homemade Dog Treats With Mix From Trader Joe’s and Custom Gift Tags
My friend Katherine and her daughter had fun making these dog biscuits, so I gave it a try. Chief is allergic to chicken (and so many packaged treats have chicken in them). They give suggestions for different flavors. It calls for 8 strips of cooked bacon and 1/4 cup of peanut butter…but that was enough for a double batch. Chief LOVES them!
I learned about custom Gift Tags Using Canva from that clever Cindy Hattersley.! There is a free version of Canva, but I upgraded to premium for the blog since I use it a lot (like for the above collage). I chose the dog graphic that looks most like the recipient 🙂
We are including toys from Chewy.com. Do you know about them? They are well priced and arrive quickly.
5. Christmas Lights in Your Neighborhood
Ahhh…lockdown. But Christmas isn’t canceled! We can get out and take a walk to check out Christmas lights. This is in my neighborhood.
If you are in the Bay Area, you and your family might want to hop in the car to check out:

I love your Pottery Barn faux fur throw recommendation. But even more than that, I LOVE that entire bedding situation! Can you give any more details? THANK YOU!
The linen sheets are from Coyuchi and the quilt and pillows are from Serena and Lily. The bolster was custom made. Thanks!
Pippa and Maggie are looking over my shoulder demanding a socially distanced trip to TJ’s so they can start baking for their friends. Mom, who has not yet starting her holiday shopping, has no time for this!!! My grandparents always took us on a drive around town a few nights before Christmas. It’s been a favorite tradition ever since. And, it’s quarantine-approve activity! xo
Love the mirror over the fireplace! Is it an antique or perhaps available at a source? Lots of great tips
It’s from Anthropologie…there is a link under Shop Our Home at the top. Thank you.
So excited to see you featured on Elsie Green! This was such a great Sunday 5. Those dog treats with the adorable tags are to DIE for,
.Lucky dogs to receive those!!! What a joy to take an evening walk in SF to remind us all that it is still Christmas and their is hope ahead!
Yes…we had such a nice drive around town, too, last night! Merry Christmas, Cindy!
Have you heard of the Christmas Tree Twins in San Francisco?? I never heard of them before but just happened to see them on line yesterday. I saw a photo where they were by the Golden Gate Bridge. Pretty funny!
Linda
I haven’t heard of them, Linda…I might need to search them!
You never disappoint! Great content and I especially love your holiday mantle.. very organic❤️ So nice to be able to walk out your door and see beautiful Christmas lights!
Linda
I DO appreciate being able to do that, Linda!
Mary Ann,
This is always fun and informative. Seeing Christmas lights up in neighbor’s homes is one of my favorite things. Your table looks amazing.
Thank you and have a wonderful upcoming countdown to Christmas.
xo,
Karen
Merry Christmas, Karen!
Mary Ann! What an honor to be featured on Elsie Green’s blog! I remember we talked all through the store one time on one of your visits! When I saw your stores that day I felt like I had been there with you…almost! x
We will go to Elsie Green on your next visit!
Where did the little clothes pins come from? Too cute!
I just got them at Papersource!
