Chairs That Can Change Looks… and I’m Lucky To Be Alive

This little guy has changed a bit in the last few years and so has the chair on which he is sitting.

When described for a BH&G article  two years ago, they said I “believed in second chances.  Third and fourth ones, too”.  That’s accurate!  I am big on re-inventing what you have.  Plus, I’ve moved a lot and it’s been necessary to find new uses.

The chairs from Noir Furniture (no longer available) came in a cheap muslin (they assume designers will customize them).  So, I had the fun Raoul green covers made (I still have them for when I want to switch things up).  I also had the upholsterer wrap the cushion inserts with a layer of down and feathers and it gives them a bit of plushness.

And then I later had plain, washed linen/cotton covers made (I love the tulips in this photo).

Here they are now in our dining room bay window.  A perfect spot to catch up with a friend.

Here are some similar chairs who’s covers can be changed to keep them interesting for the long haul.

We just bought two of these “made in America” Spindle back chairs from Horchow for a client named Floris in Sacramento, CA.  ON Sale right now!  Floris confirms that they are comfy.
And Debbie can switch up the look of her wooden framed chairs….  medium blue stripes to

a darker blue medallion pattern from Raoul.

Back to where I am blogging with my feet up…

The African throw is from a flea market but you can buy similar on Etsy here.

Last week I had an accident while quickly walking
Chief down some steep steps.
He darted sideways in front of me
and I tried to hop over him (dumb)
and fell and dislocated my ankle.
I will spare you the photo, but my foot was going sideways…
even the seasoned ER staff had wide eyed expressions
when they saw it (imagine a horror film).
So, now I have a cast and need crutches 🙁
Two of the nurses in the ER had the same thing
happen to them with their dogs on stairs!
So, please be careful walking your dog if you have one.
Chief is fine (he was a bit traumatized though).
And I am so lucky it wasn’t worse (like if I hit my head).
Someday, I will show you a photo of the stairs.
Take care!
