Hello, and welcome to tips for self-care by eight respected bloggers. We all have our own takes, and here are my tips to soothe and heal well-washed hands! The rest of the links are at the end of the post.
One thing we have learned about this time is the importance of washing our hands. Since I live in a 100-year-old high rise building in San Francisco, just taking our dog Chief outside requires touching elevator buttons and doorknobs. So, I am constantly washing my hands and using hand sanitizer. Here’s what I have done to effectively moisturize my well-washed hands.
I think it’s important to have moisturizer handy. (There are some affiliate links for your convenience).
Scented Moisturizer in The Bathroom
I actually enjoy using this easy pump, great smelling lotion: Creme Mains Thé Noir (Black Tea). It’s a nice gift. The fragrant Tatine soap is sold out right now.
L’Occitane is my favorite hand lotion with shea butter. Very soothing. I always have one in my purse (thanks to my husband who puts them in our Christmas stockings).
While Watching Television
I put this great Weleda Skin Food Lotion in our remote control basket to remind me to use it while watching television…it’s really good, too.
And those are my fav hand lotions and Tips To Soothe Well-Washed Hands!
The Foxy Kat: Katrina is maintaining healthy locks. Without access to a salon for regular hair cuts, she has found a way to keep her hair hydrated to ward off split ends.
Sheri Silver: Sheri loves making DIY gifts to give. Read how she’s DIY-ing for herself during this time!
Bungalow Blue: Kelly is sharing her skin and beauty favorites. Read about her picks for busy moms.
Happy Happy Nester: Janine shares her hair, skin, and health regimen that has worked and made a difference.
I definitely need to purchase some gloves for when I’m washing the dishes and keep lotion by the kitchen sink. I think that will make such a difference. Thank you for sharing your tips!
Mary Ann,
This is a topic we can all find something worthwhile from. Cindy’s tips on manicures and your tips on keeping our hands from looking dry and tired are great. It seems when I remember to put hand lotion on, within 15 minutes I’ve done something that necessitates handwashing. Haha.
Enjoy your Mother’s Day. We will get through this.

Mary Ann,
I love seeing your home …such nice touches everywhere! Even the bathroom with black soap bottles! Why have I never thought to wear hand lotion under my dish gloves? With the hot water it’s like being at a nail salon…remember those day!? That is such a smart tip!

I also use l’Occitane hand creams. I think they are very good. The hand cream assortment contains 6 purse size creams in the different fragrances. Makes a nice gift.
p.s. Your apartment in San Fran is lovely. What a view!
I’Occitane products feel and smell so heavenly! Lotion is so key right now with alllllllllll the handwashing! I’ve never tried Gold Bond but I definitely will now. Love the photos!
I love all of the l’Occitane products especially that hand cream. Tatine is so great isn’t it? I think their products are way more aromatic than others. I need to give gold bond a try! So many people love it!c
Hi Mary Ann, I love the idea of putting lotion on under your dishwashing gloves! This coronavirus thing is starting to get old, last night I was a little grumpy. I’m not worried so much about getting it as I am about how long this will go on. Especially when some people are being careless about it…I have noticed a lot more people out and about so I hope California doesn’t have a resurgence. I think I am going to stop watching the news. :o(

I know, Karen…I’m going through a lot of lotion. That’s why I like to have it around the house!
