A Fresh Color Combo For You: Light Blue And Dark Chocolate
It’s usually one or two things that spark a Sunday Faves post with Annie and Cindy. In this case about the color combination of light blue and dark chocolate; it was inspired by my new coastal blue Serena and Lily napkins, a great pair of light wash denim AYR jeans and finally my new classic espresso colored shoulder bag.
Let’s explore this pleasing color combo. There are some affiliate links at no extra charge to you. Thank you so much for offsetting the costs of maintaining CCH.
Blue and Espresso Table Setting
It’s funny how something as simple as new napkins (I sprung for them as they are on sale plus and extra 20% off) can get you excited to set the table for a little party.

denim blue cotton napkins • brown round rattan placemats • vintage candle sticks with brown dripless candles
The Centerpiece
Here’s how I make the centerpiece. I bought the soup tureen in Paris and once the top broke, it’s been used for plants or flowers.

Blue And Brown Throw Pillows – Pottery Barn’s Latest Drop

Lots of pretty pillows. I like to incorporate one new pillow cover per season to make everything feel fresh.
A Valentine For The Dark Chocolate Lover
Speaking of dark chocolate, do you have a Valentine who would like this from See’s Candies?

Pretty Light Blue Desk Calendar And Fine Point Pens

This new calendar with easel and the pretty pens (I like the fine tip and the way they smoothly write), brightened up my desk.
Light Blue And Dark Chocolate Outfit of The Week
This could be my uniform.

J. Crew cashmere sweater sold out but lots of other colors • similar cashmere cardigan • dark chocolate classic bag by Quince • AYR popular “Secret Sauce” loose leg jeans • off white and espresso loafers (a Christmas present from Howard). They run large even with socks so I put sole inserts in my regular size 7.
The AYR brand is new to me but I really like the quality. They gifted me these jeans and this striped tee (love!) which may have ruined me for wearing my inexpensive tee shirts.
What do you have in your closet or home to create the light blue and dark chocolate palette?

MA! You’re speaking my language. Blue is my favorite color and those napkins are gorgeous … on sale makes them a no brainer. I need to try the tape trick for flower arranging. And now I’m off to check my closet for blue and chocolate brown combinations! xo
I just purchased a long-sleeved striped t-shirt in blue and brown from J. McLaughlin–the Nico Tee in Blazer Stripe. Love it.
Mary Ann! Love the color combination of chocolate and light blue! Your AYR jeans look fabulous! I love mine and wear them every fitted day it seems! Love your table in those colors too!
Xx
Hi Mary Ann,
Lovely blue and chocolate combination so stylish!! I have just ordered a Deep End shirt from AYR ! Happy week!
Enjoy that shirt, Francesca!
I also look horrible in brown but I switch to dark brown jeans, which are old but still fit and a pale blue sweater I actually got from Old Navy and it is a favorite. I’m also a blonde turn pale silver and white with very pale skin. Warm colors look terrible on me. Your table setting is lovely. I love hydrangeas but they don’t grow in Colorado. Your grid taping is brilliant! Artificial flowers would have to work for me.
I wore a pale blue sweater recently and got compliments!
I have the same style shoes, Bass Weejuns and they too run large so I bought these shoe toe inserts to shorten the length of the shoe. The inserts are made of foam and come in different sizes depending on your shoe size. I purchased it at Amazon and now my Weejuns fit perfectly. Love the light blue and brown outfits in this post.
I will try that Roberta…maybe I will like that better than the inserts.
Love the jeans and cardigan. The Sees candy would make a nice Valentine gift. Thanks for sharing.
I love your pretty table setting! I have my eye on those napkins in green! I look terrible in brown but I love it anyway. You look great in brown and blue with your blond hair.
