Hello everyone! This is a popular post that I have updated: Special Christmas Table Favors to make for your family and friends.
Cindy and Annie have special holiday posts that they want to share, also. Their links are at the end of the post.
A Great Party Favor That They Will Want Again And Again
I was inspired to make these gourmet Christmas party favors from our adventures to an herb farm in Sicily. I think it’s fun to give guests little treats any time of year but especially at Christmas!
And these were the perfect party favor. So, I am making them again this Christmas season.
They would also be nice to put in small cellophane bags give to your co-workers or friends with a handwritten note.
Red Glasses
I got my glasses several years ago, but these are similar and inexpensive from World Market.
Wooden Basket Centerpiece
I filled this old wooden fruit basket with paper on the bottom and then layered fresh rosemary and berries and Christmas tree ornaments. You could use any basket and greenery, but the rosemary seemed to go with my “herb” theme.
Striped Napkins Tied in a Knot For Your Christmas Dinner
These napkins from Pottery Barn (a few years ago) are casually tied in a knot. These are some similar ones that I have with an organic cotton feel. (on sale)
White Porcelain Plates
This square plate is similar to the china that we use every day. We got ours in France. The salad plate is from Apilco. White goes with everything and they are chip resistant.
Christmas Table Favors To Make: Sicilian Herb Salt
Ingredients:
Ideally, you would use some of this salt in your dinner menu…on roasted vegetables or chicken or in your salad dressing.
Save the image below to your Pinterest board for homemade Christmas party favors.
Sicilian Herb Salt
Ingredients
- 1 cup Light Grey Sea Salt
- 2 cups Kosher Salt
- 1 1/4 cups Herbs de Provence
- 1/8 cup or less crushed red pepper flakes optional
Instructions
- Mix together.
- Spoon into jars and cover.
The mini Weck mold jars came from Amazon and labels from Vista Print. The labels weren’t expensive so I have a bunch left over. I simply tied some fresh rosemary with twine on to the gifts..
I used this address label format…
This table arrangement smells fragrant! And candles always add ambience.
Why not give your table some holiday party favors? If you have kids at your table, you could also put red jelly beans from Amazon in the jars tied with candy canes on top.
And that those are my DIY Christmas party favors for you spread some holiday cheer.
This is the view from our previous home in San Francisco…which we miss a bit. But,

Love that table gift! Going to use it next year… plus I too have been thing about burgundy this year (too late for 2024), but pinned it for 2025!
How many little Weck jars will the recipe make?
Thank you,
LOVELY!

GIFTS BOUGHT?
Enjoyed this so much Mary Ann! What a warm, fun place to celebrate together! Thanks for the inspiration.
Thanks, Pat. Love your Instagram photos!
Of course, I’m in love with your holiday table setting. I always think I should try something new other that the traditional red and green. But when I see a gorgeous setting like yours, I think it doesn’t get much better and is so traditional.
It’s fun to pull out the red this year, Gail. I haven’t used it in a while.
clever clever you! the table setting is gorgeous and I am stealing the salt idea.
when I entertain I love to send guests home with a gift, any time of the year. this is a great idea, and EASY.
on the bell eucalyptus…..I sell it at the shop along with fresh greens, we always tell people to be careful using indoors. as it dries, the pungent scent of cat urine permeates the house!

That’s a good tip! Right now I have the bell eucalyptus (didn’t know it was called that)…in water. But last year I had it in a wreath and didn’t notice the smell…I will be careful now though!!!
Beautiful table setting Mary Ann! All of you ladies have such good ideas and the variation in color themes is inspiring!
Your table is beautiful and I LOVE the salt party favor idea! Have a great weekend!

Mary Ann,
I love the little spice gift jars. It’s the perfect time to get the recipe and jars and labels for taking care of those little hostess gifts I love to do this time of year. Thanks you!
xo,
Karen
Mary Ann,
Your table is stunning! And to think your friends and family start the evening with that incredible view of the Golden Gate Bridge. I will be copying your party favors! I love this idea and that it was inspired by a visit to an herb farm in Italy. What a wonderful idea and who wouldn’t want one of these little jars sitting next to their range with their olive oils and vinegars. Love how you combined your red crystal, white plates, and casual striped napkins to create such a beautiful, warm table. I’m coming over…

Annie
I just love the herb salt idea and using the herbs in the centerpiece! Annnndddd….. I cant believe how gorgeous your view is and how much fun dinners must be with that bridge in the distance. Wow
Thank you so much for including me in this great project. It always gets me moving again into blogging because usually I feel stuck in neutral ; ))

How you come up with so many original tablescape ideas year after year amazes me. You always think of the perfect giveaway. The table will sparkle with your gorgeous view in the background. I hope you repeat this for some of your friends. It is absolutely charming. I personally think this is one of the best PD’s we have ever had. Everyone “rocked” it in their own special way!
I usually just mix up things I already have with one new element (like the sea salt).
I love homemade gifts, and this one is perfect! I typically make sweet things to give but now I have something savory for my guests as well. I love your holiday table. Can’t wait to check out the links.
Great ideas beautifully executed! Your view is amazing. thank you for sharing it!
Thanks so much, Colleen!
MaryAnn, I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this idea for a party favor! Each year I host my Book Club at Christmas and every year I give each of the ladies some kind of homemade favor. One year it was homemade Limoncello, another year it was Mulling Spices, etc., but this year I am fresh out of ideas, that is until now. You have solved my dilemma. And I’m going to try Vista print for the labels too. Thank you!
