Here are the top seven, Best Of Classic Casual Home new 2023 posts in order of last to first.
Hello, friend! Each year, I like to look back and learn from the posts that did well as an indicator of what you as a reader like. Of course, a lot of new readers come from people searching for topics on Google, Pinterest, etc.
What is surprising to me is that three of my top posts are fashion-related. Does that surprise you?
7. The Best Ways To Hang Art in Stairways
Lots of examples of art in a stairwell in this post. This was before we had the stair runner, which we are loving.
6. Comfortable Chic Travel Outfits
5. The Best Chicken Ramen Noodle Soup And Target’s A+ Swivel Chair
This was a Five Fave (everyone still really likes those). This included a delish recipe and great chair from Target that we bought for our guest room.
4. Pretty and Practical Porch and Pool in a Small Backyard
3. Feel Fabulous Over 50 in New Maxi Dresses
2. The Sofa Everyone Loves
Family and clients all agree on the moderately priced sofa.
1. Best Fashion Sources For Petite Women Over 50
I was shocked by this as I thought the audience would be narrow. But apparently it’s not! And as my tall friend, Jayne, says that if a store carries petite, they usually carry tall (or plus for that matter).
But don’t worry that this will become a fashion blog! My first loves are interiors and lifestyle!
And those are the Best Of Classic Casual Home posts of 2023. Please weigh in with your thoughts in the comments and fill out my short survey here. Thank you if you already did!!
You are the BEST. I mean it.

I made a few clicks into this post and ended up on your How to Downsize to a Two Bedroom post. We had to do that this year and I did it exactly as you suggested. The floorplan was a lifesaver! Really helped me to let go of things I would have held onto and had no place for. We were able to fully furnish our youngest son’s first apartment and donate a lot of other furniture. I also incorporated your help in a one hour session to review my floor plans for each room. It was so helpful to get your ideas and confirmation and later have you order our new furniture from Pottery Barn and Crate and Barrel. Love everything! Thanks for your fun posts and I look forward to more interior design content in the future!

Not surprised at all that fashion posts are so highly rated – I love your style in fashion as well as design! Keep up your great work!

I’m not eating any sweets but know it’s hidden in some foods. Anything white is out – potatoes, rice, bread… For the most part, I make my own salad dressing and we eat salad almost every night with fish or chicken. My downfall is I love a glass of wine, especially when cooking dinner. I’m trying dry January but have failed twice already (New Year’s day and then Saturday) Oops! Any hints would help.

We make our own salad dressing, too…so much better. So, far 10 days with no wine for me 🙂

Mary Ann,
A sad subject but if you ever consider the topic, “how to incorporate or what to keep from a parent’s home or estate.” I don’t know how to bring in much loved objects/furniture into my small home from my parents. I don’t have the room. But, the memories are so precious that I can’t part with them. But, have no one to pass these items on to or room for them except to be stored in my garage. Several beautiful pieces my dad bought while in the Navy from his several tour of duty’s.
Thank you.
Jennifer
