Neutral Decor With Woven Accents For Summer

I love color, of course, but neutral decor with woven accents can feel fresh and easy for Summer. I’m showing some examples of this in my home, as well as, two neutral outfits that are perfect for right now…and for travel.

And since it is Sunday Faves time with Annie and Cindy, I’m also sharing what we are enjoying on television and a delicious dish that’s excellent for a busy weeknight.

Neutral Decor With Woven Accents

Woven accents in straw, wicker, leather, textiles and other materials can add a dimension to your decor that makes it more interesting, layered and less formal. It can be accomplished easily.

Living Room – A Coffee Table Tray

In summer, I like to simplify our coffee table decor.

This oval tray adds the woven element. I’ve used it a lot for display and serving.

Outdoor

Here is another example of using a tray with neutral decorating.

Since we aren’t using the fire pit (on sale) in summer, I purchased this well-made wicker tray to create a display.

Guest Bedroom With Textures

For summer, I removed the heavier extra quilt and added this beautiful cotton knitted throw in Natural from Quince.

There are other textural elements here too, with the footstools and vintage finds.

Neutral Clothing Outfits With Woven Accents

A shirtdress is so versatile and perfect for a lunch out or on a European vacation. Here, I am showing two neutral dresses with woven accessories.

sunglassesJ. Crew white poplin dress (I’ve ordered this) • cute silk scarfcrossbody bag braceletsfresh pale pink for toescross strap sandals from Nordstrom Rack (I purchased these).

Quince For Children’s Clothing

Did you know that Quince carries kid’s clothes? Louisa loves her new organic cotton tiered dress.

She has some room to grow in this 3T size.

What To Watch On TV–“Stick” On Apple TV

Howard and I have been enjoying “Stick” on Apple. It’s still unfolding weekly and it stars Owen Wilson… “Pryce Cahill was headed for golf greatness when an on-course meltdown derailed his career; struggling to stay afloat, he goes all in to mentor Santi a teenage phenom with high potential and maybe save himself.”

What To Cook On A Busy Night – Cavatappi with Sun-Dried Tomatoes and Cannellini Beans

Howard made this delicious, hearty meatless dish a few nights ago. Adam Roberts adapted the recipe from Italian cooking authority, Lidia Bastianich.

Howard used a jar of sun-dried tomatoes in olive oil from Trader Joe’s…and it’s basically that with garlic, corkscrew pasta, cannellini beans with parmesan and chopped parsley. You may already have the ingredients in your pantry/fridge.

Those are my neutral decor with woven accents recommendations and other good things! If you would like to receive this series every week, please sign up HERE.

  1. Mary Ann, I love your easy, breezy, coastal home and all your neutral woven accents. One can never have too many woven trays. One of the things that’s so great about your fire pit is the lid that allows you to use it like a coffee table. I’m making note for our next house. I’m going to tell my nieces about Quince’s children’s offerings, Louisa had become quite a fashion plate. This pasta recipe looks delish, I need simple recipes for summer and will try it out this week. Oh, and we’re watching Sticks too … looking forward to the next episode. xo
