I’m so excited to have you here today for my Sunday Faves along with Cindy and Annie! I have my sweet friend from Florida, Ana Rose Alfonso showing us how to create an exotic orchid arrangement, a spicy salty watermelon salad, and my sister and friend modeling some resort wear!
Spicy Watermelon, Herb and Feta Salad
I got the idea for this salad from this darling appetizer that we had at Juliet’s house (Make Mine A Spritzer) recently. She served it with mint, balsamic glaze, and cute toothpick skewers.
That got me thinking about how I could make this into a larger size dish for a first course!!!
So here are the uniform watermelon and feta cheese blocks stacked, with herbs (rosemary and basil), and drizzled with balsamic glaze.
My secret ingredient: lightly sprinkled all over…
Trader Joe’s Chile Lime Seasoning Salt
Have you tried it?
Creating An Exotic Orchid Arrangement With Ana Rose
My sweet friend, Ana Rose, is a floral designer with a specialty in natural Florida materials. We talked about her work while we were on vacation together in Spain and I asked if I could feature her here.
Following are her notes…or you could watch the YouTube tutorial below.
Ana Rose is using an aged terracotta pot from Campo de Fiori.
So creative! Thanks, Ana Rose!
Over 50 Resortwear
How cute are my friend Dorothy and my sister, Teresa? I took this photo of them at the farmhouse we rented in Sitges, Spain (all about that in a post later this week).
Dorothy says her comfortable Joie linen dress can be dressed up or down (here she is wearing it for a boat ride on the Mediterranean later that day). It has pockets! This is a size extra-small.
My sister is wearing an Anthropologie top that I gave her as a gift. Size small. Teresa is wearing it with great Vuori travel/exercise pants. Size medium. They are lightweight, don’t wrinkle, and come in three colors. I want these! Her sneakers are by Cole Haan from Nordstorm Rack.
And that’s how to create an exotic orchid arrangement, spicy watermelon feta salad, and resort wear for over 50!

Let’s check out what Cindy and Annie have for us!
How did I miss this post? I have been wanting to try that watermelon salad. The only problem is I will have to entertain ha ha!! Maybe when my niece comes next week!! Your sister and friend are so chic!! And those orchid arrangements are to die for!!
Mary Ann,
Love the orchid tutorial and the salad looks wonderful! Looking forward to trying that. Just ordered the Vuori pants for my trip to Italy next month! Loved seeing all your pictures and videos from your travels to Spain and Italy. Congratulations on your daughter’s marriage. Everything looked lovely!
Let me know how you like those pants! I still need to order mine.
Mary Ann,
I love the watermelon, feta, and balsamic salads I had but the little bites would be great for a starter. Your friend and sister look great. What a fun vacation/celebration you had.
I’m not good with orchids. I typically kill them before they finish blooming. But this is an outstanding arrangement.

Mary Ann!
I love the step-by-step tutorial on making an orchid arrangement! I wish I had air plants growing in my yard! Love those pants your sister is wearing! I always buy black, I think the olive green makes them look less like workout pants, but still just as versatile!
